One thing that could make AI agents more useful in finance is the ability to work with sensitive data without exposing it.
Think about an AI agent helping a financial institution analyze transaction patterns, assess risk, or process confidential financial information.
The institution wants the benefits of AI, but it also has a responsibility to protect the data being used.
Customer records, account balances, and transaction histories cannot simply be treated like ordinary public information.
So the question becomes:
How can AI systems work with sensitive data while keeping that data private?
This is where confidential computing and cryptographic infrastructure become important.
@primus_labs is exploring this space through technologies such as zkFHE, which combines fully homomorphic encryption with zero-knowledge techniques.
Fully homomorphic encryption allows computations to be performed directly on encrypted data, without first decrypting it for the computation.
Zero-knowledge techniques can help establish that certain claims or computations are valid without requiring all the underlying information to be revealed.
These technologies address different parts of the privacy problem, but together they point toward an important direction for confidential applications.
Imagine the possibilities.
โ A financial institution could explore computations on sensitive data while limiting exposure of the underlying information.
โ An application could verify a result without requiring every private input to become public.
โ Developers could build systems where data protection is considered from the beginning, rather than added after everything else is built.
There are still practical challenges to solve, including performance, integration, and deciding who is authorized to access particular results.
But the direction is worth paying attention to.
As AI agents become more capable and start interacting with financial applications, access to information alone will not be enough.
We will also need better ways to protect that information while it is being used.
Privacy should not mean data becomes useless.
And making data useful should not mean everyone gets to see it.
That's an important problem for infrastructure like Primus to tackle.
