I’m running for State Senate because working people in Massachusetts keep getting priced out of the communities we call home.

Question 3 is the most expensive ballot question in Massachusetts this year, and almost all of the $7 million behind it comes from private equity executives at Berkshire Partners, Bain Capital, and Cove Hill, plus donors who also fund AIPAC’s super PAC and its allied groups.
Now they want to abolish our party primaries and replace them with a top-two system that California and Washington have already tried: more outside money, fewer choices, and more of the status quo. The opposition has raised $184,000, most of it from labor unions.
I will be voting No on 3.

This year it is supporting 7 students, including one who chose nursing because of the courage he saw during the pandemic and another who wants to be a dental technician since her junior year, and all 7 are the first in their families to go to college in the United States.
Last week I had the honor of speaking at the Cambridge for Palestine rally outside Cambridge city hall in support of their boycott and divestment ordinance.
A huge TY to everyone who came out to our volunteer appreciation event! We had bingo, jeopardy & paper plate awards for all our dedicated team members. Thank you to Rei Da Picanha for hosting and for the delicious food!
Belated happy bday to Felipe, Rei Da Picanha’s storeowner!
Truly such an inspiring conversation to hear from Mahmoud Khalil and Valeria Luiselli. It was powerful to learn about his lived experience and his deep commitment to render visible the horrific inhumanity of detention centers.
I was so moved by how he centers his decisions and strategy in service of our collective movement, something I and I know so many others strive to do too. Thank you Somerville for Palestine, @booksmithtweets and @ArtsattheArmory for hosting this event.
Today I had the honor of presenting Jovana Calvillo w the Latino Excellence on The Hill award for her years of community organizing. Jojo is a daughter of Mexican immigrants, she's spent years organizing alongside communities, including our immigrant and Palestinian communities.
As a leader w Somerville for Palestine, she helped organize the Yes on Question 3 the 1st boycott & divestment ballot initiative passed by popular vote in US history. Her advocacy spans immigrant rights, Palestinian solidarity, LGBTQ+ rights, housing justice, and workers' rights.
