This is the Great Isaiah Scroll, copied around 125 BC, more than a century before the birth of Jesus. It is one of the Dead Sea Scrolls and preserves all 66 chapters of Isaiah.
Among its passages is Isaiah 53, describing a suffering servant who bears the sins of others. Christians recognize this as a prophecy fulfilled in the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.
Part of that passage reads as follows:
“But he was pierced because of our rebellion,
crushed because of our iniquities.”
Isaiah 53:5
What makes this scroll so remarkable is that it physically preserves these words in a manuscript copied before Jesus walked the earth.
The prophecy Christians read today was already being copied and preserved long before the crucifixion.

Democrat Rep. Haley Stevens just ENDORSED Republican Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
She came within a few points of beating Abdul El-Sayed in the August primary.
Her words: "I don't belong in Abdul's campaign. I do not stand with Hasan Piker."
She says she's still a proud Democrat, and she's crossing over anyway.
When Democrats can't stomach their own nominee, Michigan should listen.
Vote Mike Rogers.

BREAKING: Trump tells me there is a 0% chance a Castro is in charge of Cuba when he leaves office.
Then he gave me a timeline and military plan: “Communist Regime in Cuba is not going to last much longer...Look at what we did in Venezuela"
“We’re going to finish off [Iran] and then move on to the other one. We have Marco looking at it extremely closely. His parents are from Cuba. That will work out DEFINITELY within two years.”
The DOJ has already indicted for Raúl Castro and Florida has just issued an arrest warrant. Could a Maduro style raid on the Communists be next?
Free Cuba.
Some facts for you
🚨If you're blaming President Trump for "starting a war" with Iran, perhaps it's time for a history lesson. The Islamic Republic's aggression against Americans and our allies dates back to 1979.
For nearly five decades, through seven presidencies before Trump's current term, the United States has attempted diplomacy, sanctions, deterrence, and, at times, military retaliation.
Yet the attacks continued.
American embassies bombed. Marines murdered. Civilians slaughtered. Hostages taken. American service members killed and wounded. Iranian-backed terrorist organizations armed, financed, and trained.
President Trump's stated objective is to end the aggression, not perpetuate it. You can discuss methods employed to achieve that objective. But pretending this conflict began with Trump ignores nearly five decades of Iranian and Iranian-backed attacks.
Attempting to end a decades-long pattern of aggression is not the same thing as initiating that aggression. The historical record matters. And it didn't begin in 2026.
