Someone: "Can we talk later?"
ADHD: WE’RE GETTING FIRED.
Autism: WHAT TIME IS LATER?!
Giftedness: I've analyzed 73 possible outcomes and 23 that they have not thought of themselves.
Anxiety: ALL 73 ARE BAD.
Pattern Recognition: They used a period. They NEVER use periods.
RSD: THEY HATE US.
Logic: CAN EVERYONE CALM DOWN?!
ADHD: 🎶 EVERYBODY WAS KUNG FU FIGHTING 🎶
Autism: I JUST NEED A TIME!!!

late-diagnosed autistic women will probably relate to these:
1. You hated sleepovers, school trips, or sharing spaces because you never fully relaxed around other people.
2. You became obsessed with books, games, topics, or hobbies because they felt safer and more predictable than people.
3. You relied on alcohol, humour, masking, or copying others just to feel socially normal.
4. You got upset over "small things" like plans changing, loud noises, itchy clothes, interruptions, being perceived as rude.
5. You constantly researched things before doing them. menus, parking, reviews, google street view, all possible outcomes.
6. You preferred being alone, but still felt deeply lonely watching everyone else connect so easily.
7. You felt physically sick before social events, appointments, phone calls, or school, but thought you were just anxious.
8. You got intensely attached to certain people and based your mood around how they responded to you.
9. You were "mature for your age" as a child, but felt years behind everyone else as an adult.
Being ignored is one of my biggest pet peeves because of this. If I tell someone to do something at a specific time, there's likely a very good reason for it with benefits that could be missed or natural consequences by waiting or not doing it.
Being neurodivergent can mean recognizing patterns before everyone else does. You point them out, people brush you off, and then months later everything unfolds exactly the way you predicted. Suddenly it's “obvious” to everyone, while nobody remembers you tried to warn them from the beginning. Being right doesn't always feel satisfying when you had to watch it happen first.
Shoutout to @Hooters waitress Elianna in Tampa. I think she's training, and she's doing a great job. Very sweet and attentive. @HootersFlorida

One of my biggest pet peeves is not being listened to / ignored. Then I have to watch stuff happen that could have been prevented if someone had just listened to me in the first place.
Trying to get a better seat on a @united flight and being told I can't use my $150 travel credit on a $140 seat because of $10.50 in taxes that pushes it to $150.50. I'm willing to pay the extra 50 cents, and they said no. That's ridiculous!

People with ADHD have what’s called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It’s an extreme emotional response to perceived criticism or rejection.
Your brain can’t regulate the emotional pain, so a small comment feels like a devastating attack. A minor correction feels like total failure. Someone’s tone feels like hatred.
It’s not oversensitivity. It’s not being dramatic. Your brain literally can’t modulate the intensity of that emotional response.
It’s neurological, not a character flaw
What people don't understand is that good medical providers wish their patients didn't need them. I wish all of my infertility patients could get pregnant on their own even though it would mean I'd have no job. We don't want to see people suffer, which is why we do what we do.
