Well now that itโs out thereโฆ Everyone on the Red Team was amazing. We pulled off some great operations.
I personally have my hands very full, but there are some talented teammates looking for work.
I obviously canโt speak about this much, but I have a lot of respect and trust in the current security team. Industries change. Companies change. Teams evolve.
NEW: Yahoo laid off around 25% of its cybersecurity team, known internally and in the industry as "The Paranoids," in the last year.
Company let go ~40 people out of ~200, according to multiple current and former Yahoo employees.

Once the lights came up, you could see everyone was smiling, sweating, patting backs. Pure joy.
The Pit of Kitsune is nothing but love. Sweaty, violent, kawaii love. I'll definitely be back once my ribs heal up. ๐ค๐ฆ๐ค
The Wall of Death is serious. Moshing? Go for itโpeople will look out for you. But the Wall of Death? Be ready for a real hit and know how to fall.
When I was down, a foot hit my side hard. In any other context, Iโd call it a kickโbut it was just chaos. I barely noticed it then, but once the adrenaline wore off, the pain was sharp. Pretty sure I cracked a rib. Nothing rest, ice, and OTC pain meds wonโt heal.
I ran through the checklist as I fell:

Head protected.
Too chaotic to stand right away, so I sheltered for a second or two. Someone even called out I was downโlike pit air traffic control. Love that.
The #WallOfDeath? No joke. I thought the kawaii vibe might soften it. Nope. We hit hard. I wasnโt low enough, my legs got taken out, and down I went. Years of martial arts and moshing taught me how to fall, so it went as well as it could.
