Some movies make you cry. MANCHESTER BY THE SEA (2016) leaves you sitting in silence, trying to process what you just watched. Casey Affleck plays a man who has lost the ability to imagine a future for himself, and the film never takes the easy way out.
Can someone recommend a movie that will absolutely destroy you in the most beautiful way? Something deeply human that makes you feel connected to the characters, leaves you staring at the credits in silence, and stays in your head for days. Not necessarily sad, just something that makes you feel EVERYTHING. A film about life, love, loss, loneliness, or the beautiful mess of being human. Something that leaves a little hole in your heart when it’s over.

I made the decision to have Democracy Docket take down its paywall through Election Day. Read it, enjoy it, share it -- all for free. If you want to support this effort, here is how: hubs.ly/Q04CxxVy0

WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (1998) is one of those films that makes you wonder why more movies don’t dare to look like this. Robin Williams journeys through an afterlife painted from the imagination of the woman he loves is heartbreaking.

THE EXPANSE is what happens when sci-fi treats space like a real place instead of a playground for battles. Mars & the Belt all have their own interests & reasons to fight & somehow a missing detective can be just as compelling as a war between planets.
What are your absolute favorite sci-fi movies of all time? Looking for films with mind-bending concepts, incredible world-building, or stories that make you question everything. The kind of sci-fi that pulls you into another world and stays in your head long after the credits roll. Drop your must-watch recommendations.

CONTACT (1997) gives Ellie Arroway the greatest discovery in human history, then leaves her with nothing but static on the recording and a room full of skeptics. The universe answers her, but she has no way to prove it. What a film.

Some ask why I’m posting so much about Flavio Bolsonaro, but the answer is simple: Trump says we have no money for *our* health care, but can pay for this THUG to jet-set around our country with *our* money. You see that private jet? It’s a middle finger to every American that’s feeling these high prices right now because REPUBLICANS raised them. The government always tells you they have no money for your life, but can roll out the red carpet for a criminal illegal alien who is being investigated for money laundering in his own country. His family gets to live the movie star life, while the Republicans protecting him raise your prices to benefit the elites funding their campaigns. It’s disgraceful. Flavio needs to become a national American symbol for the right’s contempt for us, the American taxpayer. Deport Flavio! Have the last laugh and give them all the finger on Election Day!

This is this most damning thing in the Epstein files and the media has still ignored it. Peter Thiel created the group that turned Russian hacked emails into conspiracy theories about Hillary—MAGA3X. Thiel coordinated with the Russians through Jeffrey Epstein—for YEARS. Trump, Thiel, and Musk are all so thoroughly compromised by their own treason they are effectively Russian agents. Putin must be defeated. Traitors must face consequences. Russia, Russia, Russia
On Oct 7, 2016, an emergency meeting was set by infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein with Palantir founder Peter Thiel, and Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin. Later that day, the Access Hollywood tape came out, followed by Russian-hacked emails being released on Wikileaks, which were systematically painted by alt-right online trolls paid by Thiel’s PAC MAGA3X to mean that Hillary Clinton was involved in child sex trafficking. Mike Flynn and Erik Prince both worked to amplify these false, traumatic narratives about Podesta and a cabal of Satanic pedophiles run by Hillary. This was done significantly through Breitbart, which was run by Epstein close friend Steve Bannon, and funded by Rebekah Mercer. Additional firepower for these psychological operations was provided by Wagner chief Yvgeny Prigozhin’s Internet Research Agency—later charged by Robert Mueller. Up to 600 Russians were dedicated to the 2016 election on Twitter and Facebook. The smearing of Hillary Clinton, which mirrored Epstein and Trump’s own documented child rape, was later branded as Pizzagate—and extended by QAnon. It was all systematic, large-scale projection designed to swing a presidential election through psychological warfare. Thiel was the only major donor who supported Trump in the wake of Trump’s comments about grabbing women by the genitals on video. Palantir had previously been caught planning to run a covert influence operation on Wikileaks. A month after Trump’s inauguration, Vitaly Churkin suddenly died. We were looking for “Russian collusion” in the wrong place.
