You know, it’s hard to resist an Inslee Fact Check, but he’s telling the truth here. Look at cost of living during his tenure (and Bobs):
Replying to @engele @JayInslee
Seattle-area CPI-W (BLS data used by WA for COLAs) from Inslee taking office in 2013 through 2025: cost of living rose ~49%. Annual inflation peaked at 8.8% in 2022 then eased. Graph shows the index (2013=100) and yearly rates. 2026 data still partial but continuing upward.

Around half of Seattle businesses report that are considering moving or shrinking, blaming a business environment that they say is getting worse and don’t believe it looks like it will get better, according to a survey from the Downtown Seattle Association and Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. kiro7.com/news/local/survey-…

This is true... @JayInslee has cost Washingtonians more to fill their car and heat their homes then Republicans and Democrats combined in the other Washington.

It is wild to me that the rules got changed with 11 days to go until the election. Basically, the state PDC just said we are in the fourth quarter at the two minute warning, and suddenly you can play with 30 players instead of 11.
Welcome to a new era of Washington state politics.
On Friday, 11 days before the election, Washington's Public Disclosure Commission announced it will stop enforcing the $7,500 cap on last-minute PAC donations. Ballots are already out. @kirocharlie on why a decision this big shouldn't land quietly on a Friday.

Proponents of Washington's income tax say that if you vote yes on 645, you're cutting funding to programs... even though the tax won't start collecting money until 2029...
You can't cut what nobody's paid.
Vote Yes on 645!

Washington's spending grew twice as fast as inflation and population combined, and now takes a larger share of the economy than it did ten years ago.
Keeping up with both inflation and population growth would have meant about +64%. Spending rose +127%, roughly double that, so even the tougher baseline leaves spending well ahead. (FEED THE BEAST)
A CEO and CFO would gt fired for running a business like this.
Have we really received the commensurate value of government services that paces with the spending? 😅😂🤣

I’ve lived in Seattle so long, I’m having a difficult time processing good news. This is good news. We’ve lived in a land of make-believe where confiscation gets a pat on the tush with the right branding.
This is the first time in a while that’s gotten a real challenge.
Very big ruling today from the appeals court on Seattle’s tenant protections. For the first time a court has basically said there is a limit to how far govt can go before it’s a “taking”

The ad isn’t just so clearly antisemitic that rent Michigan Ds are running from it, it was also so economically illiterate that anyone not overcome with animus could see the fallacy. AES needs this! It’s a perfect chance to Sister Souljah his bigoted hangers-on…

“Among El-Sayed's many political gifts, perhaps his superpower is his capacity to bully and bluff reporters who deign to try to get to the bottom of his controversial associations and views.
His blanket denials about an affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood have not been pierced or tested because he uses anger to deflect and intimidate the follow-ups that would be necessary.”

That’s not a denouncement of the ad by @AbdulElSayed.
El-Sayed campaign statement: "This ad is not affiliated in any way with the Abdul for Senate campaign. Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trump’s agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders. No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign." #MISEN

As much as I want Dems to control the Senate, I don't think I could ever support or vote for El-Sayed after this ad:

New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.
More of this in WA please.

New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

My my my, what a surprise it is to have trial lawyers trying to pick their own judges.
After all, what better way to keep the spigot of public settlements and damages open?
Washington State has a $4.4B estimated liability fund to pay for government misconduct and mismanagement, primarily from the Department of Children Youth and Families. Horrifying cases of child abuse. Over 115 cases with judgments of over $1M.
That fund is not just growing. It’s metastasizing. And it threatens to eat up a greater share of our public dollars every year.
We have a lot of work to do to clean up Washington State government. We need an Office of an Inspector General to stop abuse before it happens. And we need to shut off the legal gravy train with real tort reform.
