Access to an LLM isn’t a medical degree. But I don’t think we totally understand yet just how informed patients are going to be. And no one knows better when something is wrong. This is a huge cultural shift well underway.

People with autism & ADHD age late. We do things late. Our frontal lobe doesn’t develop until our mid 30s in many cases (as opposed to the neurotypical norm of age 25). We also have baby faces & childlike mannerisms for life while somehow possessing the wisdom of an ancient sage.

As the editor of @Jezebel, I'd like to say that while I recognize we are no longer living in the 2016 media ecosystem, Jez is still very much here, and we're still covering abortion rights, calling out celebs, & publishing silly blogs. You can find us at Jezebel [dot] com. Thx<3

claude cowork is making me think maybe we’ll look back and it’ll be obvious that humans were never meant to spend their lives working behind a screen. we’ll see it as inevitable that computers do everything for us on computers and the future of work is cooler than we can imagine

I know this has already been said a million different ways, but it's increasingly clear that playing it safe with your career right now is the riskiest thing you can do.

Personal news: I left @latimes in December after 11 years + joined L.A. Material — a new, soon-to-launch local news outlet.
We have a small but mighty team and our site is up! No stories yet but I’m excited to show soon what we’ve been working on.

In the 1970s, there was a man known as ‘Area Scatter’ whose real name is Uzoma Odimara. According to reports, Area Scatter was a civil servant in Imo State, who earned his living from his salary while working with the Nigerian government.
However, stories have it that during the civil war, the man disappeared for about 7 months and was not seen throughout the period; only to reappear after 7 months and 7 days.
Uzoma claimed that during his absence, the gods had taken him. He returned with a feminine appearance pierced ears, braided hair, and a rhythmic, graceful gait. He insisted the spirits had gifted him "uncanny powers" to enhance his musical talent and embrace a feminine spirit.
Like many legends, his story ended abruptly. Rumors and reports confirm that Area Scatter passed away following a tragic car accident along the Port Harcourt-Owerri Expressway..

— Builder (make the thing)
— Storyteller (bring attention to the thing)

“The real midlife crisis in America isn’t about lifestyle choices or sports cars. It’s about juggling work, finances, family, and health amid weakening social supports,” Infurna said. “The data make this clear.”
Americans in their 40s and 50s are suffering from a profound deterioration in health and well-being that is virtually unseen in other wealthy nations. They are lonelier, more depressed, and physically weaker than the generations that came before them.
