The naming of the Special Counsel delays the prosecution of Donald Trump for likely two years.
It is a cowardly act by Merrick Garland and consistent with everything I've said about this man for a year and a half and his refusal to prosecute Donald Trump.
He waited to do this.
While I wish Joyce was right, seems pretty clear this is nothing more than another kick the can down the road maneuver to run out the clock. Nothing is ever going to happen.
The key here, once Garland decides to appoint a special counsel, will be picking someone who will be able to hit the ground running and move the investigation forward without delay. wsj.com/articles/garland-to-…
