The New York Times reports that there were no U.S. officials at the funeral of Aysenur Eygi, the U.S. citizen who was killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank last week.
While it’s true that her funeral was a one-hour flight away from the nearest embassy or consulate, it would have sent a profound message if a U.S. official had attended.
I say that while also acknowledging there are much more profound messages and actions, but these little things really matter to most people.
Now, if her family asked that no U.S. officials be present, that is their right, but if they didn’t, this would have been such an easy thing to do.

This is an excellent documentary. It follows a single cow. You watch her give birth to a calf, provide the milk we drink, you see her graze in the fields and socialize with other cows. And then when she shows signs of age and illness, you watch her human handlers, whom she trusts, shoot her in the head.
I’m not a vegetarian, but I see the occasional discourse about it on here. I think if you don’t have some misgivings about killing nice animals and eating them you’re probably a little heartless. At the very least people should have better understanding of where their food comes from.

It happens every single time: the message from peaceful & righteous protesters gets drowned out by wreckers, possible provocateurs and morons whose juvenile emotional release is more important to them than the cause itself.
But make no mistake, among the protesters yesterday were freed Israeli hostages and family members of current hostages. Six of them were arrested yesterday for protesting Netanyahu's lie-riddled speech. Disgusting how they're being smeared.
