It is a well known fact that the youth of this country are struggling more than ever. No economic opportunities, job insecurity, a severe lack of housing, crippling education debt and students abroad barely getting any TTs.
Are the youth of this country happy? We have to demand the dignified life we deserve, one free from fear of being sacked or just scraping by to survive. We all need to come together to put an end to it.

Empowered women make our society fairer and our families, communities and country better and more prosperous.
Half our population are women. Yet they are barely present where decisions are made.

19 years ago today, the voting age was lowered to 18, and served as a necessary first step to ensuring our youth had a say in the governance of our country. That right was won by the sacrifices and political action of thousands of young people working together.
Our youth have understandably lost faith in our political institutions. It is our responsibility to give them a cause worth fighting for, and to make sure the country we build is one that aligns with their vision.

It is very worrying that the German government has decided to close the German Consulate office in the Maldives. This is again due to the government's misguided approach. The government wanted to replace the Honorary Consul to the Maldives with a person of its own liking, and Germany had reservations about this.
