Yes, tables are one way to visualize data. And yes, even though it’s relatively simple to create a table, there are a couple of things one should consider. @jschwabish developed ten straight forward guidelines that help us to improve our table skills (see thread/paper)
I recently published "Ten Guidelines for Better Tables" in the Journal of Benefit Cost Analysis (@benefitcost) on ways to improve your data tables.
