On several recent occasions, strangers on here have felt compelled to call me a nerd, or a loser, and that’s fine. Both of those things are obviously true, but I’m so much more than that. What about all of my other faults and shortcomings? I have so much more to offer!
Going to one of those Korean bbq places and saying “they’re doing this to me at work tomorrow” every time I put anything on the little grill
My parents gave me a copy of Catcher in the Rye for my 13th birthday and I stayed up all night reading it in a single sitting. The next morning when I was like “that was amazing he was speaking directly to me,” they said “you and 50 million other kids” which was very humbling

Some of the campaign messaging here in Texas is making me truly insane. It’s like: “I’m a Republican running for office. My opponent is a SOCIALIST. Vote for me to protect the working class and keep your life affordable for each according to their needs.”
Working on a cultural criticism piece where I’ve basically been given a sizable platform to throw a rock at a billion-dollar discourse machine, and it’s a good thing that I’m so confident and self-assured or this would be a little nerve racking
I had enjoyed AK Blakemore’s first two books but Doom Painting is a noticeable step up from both of them, as well as a stake through the heart of every think piece about millennial writers. Believe every shred and speck of hype that you see. It’s colossal.
My riff on Georges Perec’s “An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris,” as narrated by a Flock Camera.
My sister has never watched even a second of any of Nathan Fielder’s projects, but this afternoon she somehow ended up at a screening of You Can See Everything where he did a Q&A with the audience. When she left the theater after 5 hours all she could say was “I feel insane”
