Long ago the Queen Of Fair Elfland saw a mortal sunrise for the first time.
But her dawn faded too quickly.
So she stole a piece of morning light and placed it in her crown.
Since then, folk say the first glow of dawn lingers longer here, over the mere, than anywhere else
Thankfully there’s plenty of leaves left on the trees in the vale, despite the ravages of #StormBoelo, and the colours are changing nicely now.
