Don't forget to add in the cost of employer-sponsored healthcare in Boston. A family plan is ~9k per year, and that certainly doesn't mean that routine healthcare will be free of cost afterwards.

How do we retain scientists who want an academic career? We pay them a living wage, subsidize daycare, provide extra technical support - during pregnancy and 6-12 months postpartum. We hear from more scientists about how they balance work/life obligations.
