Here’s the 8min long screen recording of my conversation last night with ChatGPT. Safe to say I had a blast 😆
I offered Rantanen $12.4M over 5 years to join the Oilers with McDavid locked in on a $20.8M deal. Made the tough call to let Stu Skinner, Henrique & Jeff Skinner walk—allowing us to reallocate the extra cap room to Rantanen’s 5‑year deferred deal. More: chatgpt.com/share/67a718f7-7…
Kept our long-tenured core—Nurse, Nugent-Hopkins, Bouchard, Ekholm & Hyman—anchoring the team and added fresh depth with prospects like Michael Andersson and Jordan Beaulieu.
The result is a balanced, cap-compliant roster.
The link to this is now broke because I don’t know how to use ChatGPT. You’ll have to go to the Rantanen link and scroll back to see how I re-signed McDavid.

Heart wrenching to hear about Constable Travis Jordan and Constable Brett Ryan being murdered in the line of duty this morning. Deepest condolences to their families and friends and to all in the @edmontonpolice service. They put the lives on the line every day. #RIP
