I had a lovely time meeting the ONS content design team today 😊
They're looking for speakers. Go on, do it.
The fantastic @fi_brook spoke at our #ContentDesign Community of Practice yesterday about the psychology of #impostersyndrome and how to handle it and use it to your advantage.

UX peeps: I’m seeing more & more ppl recognize the deep trauma that many of us carry from a career full of relentlessly having to “prove our value.” I’d love to discuss ideas for how to create teams and cultures that don’t cause this trauma. Anyone up for a chat/group brainstorm?
I'm speaking @Content_Folks at the end of April. It's free and online if you want to come along!

Acts of leadership I'd like to see more of
〜Amplifying quiet voices
〜Saying I don't know
〜Listening more than talking
〜Acknowledging power
〜Highlighting mistakes you've made
What would you add?

Your regular reminder that you can switch “utilise” for “use” in just about every context, and nothing bad will happen to you, and content designers across the land will rejoice.

If I have one mission in my career
it’s to do what I can to shift power away from noisy dogmatists and into the hands of the thoughtful and often uncertain people.
From where I’m sat, we desperately need less hot-takes, and more curiosity and humility.
Damn right. I think about digital inclusion a lot but this is a good reminder that bad design is so damaging to people: theguardian.com/society/2022…
