We know that prayer is hard work. Prayer can be discouraging. Often, we pray expecting immediate answers. It’s sort of like when we were gardening, when our children were young, and I had them come out and put the seeds in the row, and we covered them up with dirt, and we watered it. And my daughter came out the next morning and looked at the garden and said, “Dad, it didn’t work,” because she was expecting immediate fruit. Sometimes we do that with prayer.
So how to pray? Remember who you are. Remember who God is. Remember what you have been given. Quote Scripture as you pray. Rest in God's presence and power. Pray for grace and then get up and continue what God has called for you to do!

Always look forward to having the Harvicks in town. It’s a tradition that goes back over 20 years. Keelan’s growing passion for the outdoors has been fun to watch.
This year was a special one, with both of them taking a buck on the same evening!

Eight Ways to Make Saturday Great!
1. Something you enjoy.
Everything doesn’t have to accomplish something.
2. Someone you love.
Give them your attention without making them compete with your phone.
3. Something you’ve been putting off.
Sometimes finishing one small thing helps you enjoy everything else.
4. Someone who needs encouragement.
Send the text. Make the call. Tell them what you appreciate.
5. Something that restores you.
Take a walk. Read a book. Leave a little room to breathe.
6. Someone you can help.
Look for a simple way to make somebody’s day easier.
7. Something you’re grateful for.
Don’t get so focused on what’s next that you miss what’s good right now.
8. Someone who makes you laugh.
Make time for people whose company you enjoy.

A great Saturday doesn’t have to be packed. Just intentional.
The things that matter most rarely demand your attention. The people who matter most shouldn’t have to. Make room for both today.
