If you noticed your iPhone is charging a little slower recently it may be due to a new setting Apple added in iOS 16.1 — Clean Energy Charging
With it turned on, iOS will only recharge the iPhone's battery when the electrical grid uses cleaner energy sources like solar or wind
You can disable it under Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging

Do you remember that before the internet people thought the cause of stupidity was lack of access to information?
Well, it wasn't that.

It continues to be mind-boggling that, in America, mask-wearing is so tied to political ideology. You can be fairly certain that anyone wearing a mask in August 2022 is a Democrat.

I am deeply thankful. Today 35 yr ago, my dream came true. I was granted a student visa to come to USA. I no longer feel this is the America that I arrived in. She has been under attack by Marxism/Communism that I thought I had escaped from. That’s why I am fighting to save her!

I live in Nigeria and we've probably all gotten it more than once but we've decided to live with it. It's a disease that's milder than malaria and we've lived with malaria forever. If it killed that much, everyone in the cramped ghettos would be dead by now.
.@gloamingwhale I'd be very interested in an updated assessment. (I'd actually pay you if you have any such mechanism).

Dislocation of transportation is a durable issue for 6-12 months at least.
Shortage of packaging is variable based on consumer demand. A collapse in demand for packaging in one sector frees raw material for other sectors.

- Spike in feed $$
- Backlog at the meat processors due to COVID issues in '20 and cyber attack on JBS two wks ago
- Higher price and less capacity for reefer trucking from processors to grocers/distributors
- Shortage of packaging for processed meat
All come to mind offhand.

India is a better strategic ally for the U.S. than China is. China throws around that money tho. Everyone from think tanks to media bros are taking cash under the table.
Cerno supports India. Remember this. It will matter sooner than we expect.

Just a quick reminder that Chrome is not the only browser available and maybe it's time to switch to one made by a company that values your privacy.
A switch has silently been flipped in millions of instances of Google Chrome: those browsers will begin sorting their users into groups based on behavior, then sharing group labels with third-party trackers and advertisers around the web. eff.org/deeplinks/2021/03/go…

How far is Joe Biden going to stop the American people from seeing inside the Donna CBP facility?
Biden sent a political operative from DC to block our cameras and even threatened another senator to obstruct legitimate congressional oversight.

Thanks to the likely weeks-long blockade of the Suez Canal, ships on the Eurasian routes now have to cross the Indian Ocean and transit the Cape.
This will add time and complextiy to port rotations, fuel planning, and crewing.

It's a false dichotomy to say we have to choose between exploring space and ending poverty. Please don't play into zero-sum scarcity thinking. We can and should do both. The government doesn't need Musk's wealth. We can just end poverty. It's a matter of will not resource limits.
