We’ve had a lot of questions about when we’re opening for submissions again. To start with the unfortunate news, Flash Point SF is going to begin an extended hiatus in 2027. Our authors, readers, and fans have given us six wonderful years and we hope to have more in the future!
Editing Flash Point SF has been the experience of a lifetime, and while we have plans for the wider press during the hiatus, our main goal now is ending our final issue of 2026 as strongly as we can. So queue up your best flash! We can't wait to read it!
Our Year Five anthology is officially live! Featuring all 26 stories from 2025 and another stellar cover from our art director, it's a great addition to your digital shelves.

Surprise surprise! Guess who's running a Holiday Contest... 🎄🎅🎁
Open through Sept. 15th. See our submissions form for contest details: flashpointsf.com/submissions…
For the past five years, we thought Max was locked in his office editing Flash Point SF. Turns out he was writing a book too.
Congrats to FPSF editor @MADosser on the publication of Nostalgic Futures!
Publication day!
My first book, Nostalgic Futures: The Reactionary Fantasies of Speculative Fiction Fandoms (@RutgersUPress), is officially out!
It grew from a graduate paper on PuppyGate into a book examining how nostalgia connects fan controversies to wider culture wars.
Our summer submissions window is officially open! Open until July 31st.

The first ever FPSF "issue" is live. 6 great flash stories, including our Drabble Contest winners and runners-up.

Not content with one book, our editor @MADosser has started work on a second! This one is about SF fandom in the mid-2010s. If you were active in the fandom then, he would love to interview you! Drop a comment or a DM if you’re interested in chatting or just hearing more
