For over 3 weeks the GU and Regent’s Canals have been dealing with this disgusting pollution and environmental damage, apparently caused by dumping cooking oil in the water #pollution #london #paddington #crt #maidavale #canals #waterways #environment #wildlife #birds

A huge thank you to all of the funders and partners who have made our programmes possible, and the brilliant children, young people and families we’ve had the privilege of working with this year. We’re looking forward to sharing more adventures on the canal with you all in 2022.

Our next 2021 highlight has got us all excited about next summer (and some warmer weather)! Our holiday programme kicked off at the end of July with @FourthYcc coming aboard to explore the canal.

They joined us for 3 weeks of adventures on the water, including a drum making workshop, canoeing, puppet making, and homemade pizza baking. This project was made possible by support from @youngwestminster and @citywestminster’s Westminster Brighter Futures Fund.

This summer we ran our first Forest School, made possible by support from @KusumaTrustUK. Over 6 weeks, children from schools in North Westminster joined us every Saturday to explore nature, learn bush craft skills, and rediscover the outdoors after lockdown.

After all the challenges of the pandemic, it was a privilege to spend time learning and having fun in the woods with a wonderful group of children. We can’t wait for next year's Floating Classroom Forest School!
