Riyoko Ikeda was basically the Mary Shelley of her field. The higher-ups were like "lol females and kiddies don't want history" and Ikeda essentially pulled a 'hold my beer' moment and proceeded to eviscerate their egos in one fell swoop.......with her pen.

EXCLUSIVE: “Big Little Lies” kicked off production on Season 3 this week with a single day of filming. Returning star Merrin Dungey, who plays Detective Adrienne Quinlan, was among those on set.
• Insiders said that this week’s one day of shooting took place in order for the show to maintain its California state tax credit, which has already been approved.
• Full production on Season 3 isn’t expected to begin until next year, but a date has not yet been locked in.
