I have absolutely zero confidence this will be enforced against the people who should be arrested. We all know who will be targeted by this.
Persistent anti-social behaviour offenders can now face curfews or bans from town centres. New Respect Orders mean they could also be ordered to attend drug, alcohol or anger management programmes. Those who breach these orders could face up to two years in prison.

I suspect this thread expresses the thoughts of so many right now: “You fail to protect the borders of my country, tax me to pay for my cultural replacement, and then expect me to leave my wife and child in a crime ridden pit whilst I die in foreign fields protecting someone else's border?!?”
1/2. You prosecute soldiers for following orders, you throw them out and refuse to support, treat and house them, and you expect me to join up?

This is superb by @GoodwinMJ. Absolutely brilliantly stated 🔥🔥 Young British men are being asked to die for a country that spends its time telling them they should be ashamed of it. Their schools and universities train them to see Britain as a racist colonial project that needs dismantling. Their culture is treated as something that only counts when it’s celebrating someone else. Say you’re English and proud of it and you’re marked as the problem. At the same time the government opens the door to people who have already decided the West is the enemy, and sends billions overseas and into welfare for non-British nationals while the white working-class kids at the bottom of the education system get nothing. That’s the deal on offer. Hate your own people, watch the state prioritize everyone else, then pick up a rifle when the politicians who built this mess decide it’s time. Most of them have already worked out there’s nothing left worth fighting for.

Wow. Alex is not displaying cowardice here. He is highlighting a broken social contract. You can’t spend years eroding the country — mass uncontrolled immigration, two-tier justice, prosecuting veterans, telling people they can’t have a national identity or fly their own flag — then demand young men go and die for it when the Defence Secretary suddenly notices the world is dangerous after spaffing our money on everything but defence. You can’t ask men who aren’t allowed to feel pride in their country to die under its flag. Give people a country worth defending again, or stop being surprised when they say no.

A message to the North East, a region that means so very much to me, but it matters to each of you with these new almighty mayors too. This is Kim McGuinness. The Labour Mayor who sat in a room with the Prime Minister and a table full of elected mayors last week and complained that your councils were getting in her way. Her words: "They could stop me from doing it. And I don't think that's right, either on this or other things." This was never just about a tourist tax. It's about who gets to decide what happens in your town. I'm a County Durham lad. My grandad, and generations of my family before him, went down the pits here. My mam and dad met working in the factories of Stanley. I was brought up to believe that power belongs as close as possible to the people it affects. In your street. In your village. With the councillors you can stop in Tesco and give a piece of your mind. So let me walk you through what's happened. In 2024, Kim McGuinness stood for mayor promising a £1 a night charge on hotel rooms. A quid. A "small charge," she called it. Now she wants a levy of up to 5% on every booking. On a £150 hotel room, that's £7.50 a night. Every hotel, B&B, guest house and holiday let in the region. That isn't the small charge she put in her manifesto. It's a massive escalation she never asked you about. Then something happened she didn't plan for. You voted. After she was elected, the people of Durham, Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside put Reform in charge of their councils. Those are mandates every bit as real as hers, and more recent. In September, the four of us wrote to her asking her to rule this tax out. Northumberland's Conservatives oppose it too. That's five of the seven council leaders on her own cabinet, from two different parties. So what was the first thing she did? She didn't come back to us. She didn't try to change our minds. She went straight to the Prime Minister, in front of mayors from across the country, and asked for the power to overrule the councils you elected. Let's be clear about what that means. Devolution was supposed to take power out of Westminster and hand it back to communities. What Kim McGuinness wants is to take power out of Westminster and park it on one desk in Newcastle. Hers. That isn't devolution. It's centralisation with a regional postcode. It reduces your local councils to powerless chambers with a car park. She was asked to pick between the councils you elect to serve your community and more power for herself. She picked herself. And she told the PM it wasn't just about this. "Other things," she said. So ask yourself what comes next. If your council can't stop her taxing visitors, can it stop a thousand homes going up on the edge of your village? A solar farm across good farmland? Turbines on your skyline? She wants the answer to be no. Follow the money too. In that same meeting, which project did she talk up? Newcastle. She didn't name a single Durham town. Durham's guest houses collect it. Tyneside spends it. Her reply to me in the Chronicle was 200 words on why her tax is wonderful. There wasn't a single word denying she'd asked the Prime Minister to overrule the leaders you elected. Not one. I don't think that's right. I don't think any of you voted for that. And I'm not going to sit quietly whilst it happens either.

Replying to @PeterBleksley
@PeterBleksley, the way you spoke to @Alexarmstrong was disgusting. I was genuinely taken aback. If the question was whether he would fight here, on British soil, to protect this country’s women and children from men who mean them harm, I suspect the answer would be yes. But calling a 35-year-old man a “coward” because he doesn’t want to be sent abroad to kill other young men at the behest of a government that has spent much of his life treating him like shit? How dare you? Young white men and boys are repeatedly told they’re privileged, toxic and the source of every problem in the world since the 1700s. Veterans and their families are left fighting for support. Then, when the government wants soldiers, these same young men are expected to fall into line and go off and die for the goverments banker mates. At 35, the majority of thier lives theyve been told they’re everything wrong with Britain - they're not even allowed to call themselves "British" or wave their own flag without being abused and insulted - now they're called "cowards" for questioning whether they owe its politicians their lives. Utterly disgusting. You owe Alex an apology.
A heated GB News debate between Peter Bleksley and @Alexarmstrong asked whether young people should go to war for Britain when the government has done nothing for them. I stand with Alex on this one. Why should anyone be expected to fight for a country that has failed them?.

The madness. Panic ensues because Russia may invade the UK. But everything's fine when boatloads of Africans and Middle Easterners invade. The usual suspects are up in arms because old people on just a state pension of £13,000 a year won't be paying tax. But they're fine that people on benefits of a lot more than that don't pay tax. And the same usual suspects say pensioners take out of the system more than they've ever put in, like NHS care, free bus travel and prescriptions. But they're very quiet about foreigners who are taking more than that out and have never contributed a bean. Ever. And Andy Burnham has said he wants to rejoin the EU in his lifetime. The opposite of what he told the constituents in Makerfield. The madness. The hypocrisy. The UK.

Many young British men simply won’t fight in a far-off land for a government that has repeatedly betrayed them, or a country that puts them last. Many young men of migrant backgrounds won’t fight because they don’t really consider themselves British. You reap what you sow.

WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON IN BRITAIN? Wes Streeting warns Britain must be ready for possible war within 1,000 days. The Government is now urging households to keep three days of emergency food, water and supplies. Meanwhile, MI5 warns of serious threats to our national infrastructure. These are not trivial warnings. What has changed in the threat assessment? How prepared is Britain? And what protection is in place for ordinary families? Stop treating the British public like fools and insulting our intelligence. If the threats are this serious, explain them properly. Tell us what is known, what remains uncertain and what the Government is doing about it. WE DESERVE STRAIGHT ANSWERS AND THE TRUTH! @wesstreeting @10DowningStreet @andyburnham @UKLabour @RestoreBritain @RupertLowe10 @_HenryBolton

I used to have hedgehogs living in the garden that I would see every night and share photos and videos of regularly: there were at least three different individuals including the named resident female Henrietta. This was until landlord of the neighbouring property decided to clear their entire garden— all of the trees, all the shrubs, all the bramble, everything was torn up and thrown out. They also tore down the shared fence between our gardens which had been an old wooden fence covered in ivy, with plenty of gaps for the hedgehogs to pass through. They built a brand new 6ft tall impenetrable fence. The construction of this fence may seem minor but it means that wildlife like hedgehogs can no longer pass through. The removal of the plants from that garden means that the hedgehogs lost a huge part of their foraging and living area. I have not seen a single hedgehog in our garden since the neighbour made these changes. I don’t know if it’s because they can’t get in past the new fences, because they were scared away, or possibly because they were killed in the renovations. I look for Henrietta often and wonder what happened to her. Did she get fenced out of our garden permenantly? Did she get taken away with the branches and leaf litter? Did she get fenced inside the neighbours garden and find herself unable to get back out? I’ll probably never know. I’ve made some gaps in the new fence now and though I wait for the hedgehogs to return, it has been several months now and I still haven’t seen any. Hedgehogs are a Red List species in the UK, yet landowners seemingly have no requirement to consider them whatsoever in any renovations they make. I pleaded with the neighbouring landlord (via some very patronising estate agents) to leave some habitat intact. They ignored me.
Britain had about 30 million hedgehogs in the 1950s; we've got under 875,000 today. The population has dropped by about 97%. Shocking.
