If the city was serious about ethics, they would put the ethics office in a prominent place in city hall.. not hidden away in code enforcement building.

We cannot allow a broadcast blackout of the Independent Ethics Board. I raised this concern weeks ago with the City Manager. We’ve made huge strides in the last year expanding access and transparency to local government— this is a step in the wrong direction.

The city's Independent Ethics Board will extend an offer for its next ethics officer to Keith Powell, a senior investigator with the Florida Commission on Ethics. He will replace Julie Meadows-Keefe who will step down next year
Thank you for not rubber-stamping a performance evaluation. Our elected officials should do the hard work, which you obviously do!

If the Ethics Board can't/won't enforce ethical behavior within the Board and Ethics Officer, what makes them think they can enforce it within their Ordinance-defined jurisdiction?

Catherine Baer, member of Citizens for Ethics Reform, criticizing Meadows-Keefe over “inappropriate relationship with a city employee.” She says the Ethics Board failed to take action.
I look forward to the Ethics Board following up on this.

We fought @AndrewGillum on the property tax increase. We NEVER agreed to it. Gillum held the police pay hostage while giving huge salary increases to certain people.

While there are stellar charter schools in FL, they were originally proposed as “teacher-run schools that would use innovative techniques to be shared w/traditional schools.” That innovative concept is now a competitive rather than cooperative relationship. #EquityForAllStudents

My kids get a great edu at their local public school. Current system is truly hurting public edu and proliferating por-profit charts which are not being held to the same high standards as public edu. Our Reps have created a dual/competing system of schooling that is unacceptable
