I telephoned The Charity Commission (CC) (0300 066 9197) this morning to discuss my concerns with them about the Invictus Games Foundation (IGF), and how very many of us, when raising questions to the IGF are instantly blocked (a red flag). I have explained that some, under the freedom of information act have requested accounts and that upon receipt much of those accounts have been redacted. I further explained that I read today Better Up have apparently involved themselves with IGF and asked was that legally allowed. He explained that there MAY be a conflict of interest. Here is what he has suggested we do: Visit The Charity Commissions website and search for the accounts of IGF. The IGF registration number is 11591482 Look at the accounts which should explain fully how funds have been used. The accounts should also include Group accounts (so each hosting countries accounts). Additionally whilst on the website look at their guidelines to see how the CC can help and in what circumstances. IF the information you require is not available, and as we keep getting blocked when asking about such things, we should write to the trustees (listed in the accounts) and follow the complaints procedure. Keep your evidence. If you do not hear back, or when you do hear back your concerns and questions have not been addressed, then send a copy of the due process you’ve carried out, along with your concerns and evidence to the CC. Within the guidelines will also be explained about “conflicts of interest” and of course if any rules and regulations have not been adhered to we can let the CC know.
