Vanessa Rossetto's @foundrabbit newest on #ErstwhileRecords - The Professional - is a spry, playful series of pieces about the creative process itself. Lots of great, fast moving pastiches of musique concrete, but with the narrative and programmatic content that Vanessa is well-known for at this point. This time we're along for her European tour and worldly travels. We hear the pieces unfold and figure themselves out along her journey, with the music and speech captured via field recording often reflecting back in on itself and referencing the circumstances and techniques involved in its own creation. It's a wonderful kind of mirror universe. In the process we hear Vanessa giving a workshop, live sets, an interview, and more of her experiences through this seemingly living mass of sonorous storytelling. Highly recommended
