I can’t believe the 2025-26 season is over for Kentucky men’s basketball.
Regardless of anything related to the team’s performance, words don’t describe how freaking cool it was to be on the court before the games, talk to the players and travel across the country.
I still remember the first time I asked Mark Pope a question, and how I somehow mustered up the courage to spit my words out.
Humbly, I’ve come so far since that moment, and the opportunities I’ve had with KY Insider have been nothing short of incredible.
Here’s to my first season on the beat. 💙

Final from Lexington!
Kentucky finds life in overtime and beats UCF, 90-76!
After a poor second-half performance, where the Wildcats’ double-digit lead evaporated, Alex Wilkins hit a clutch floater to give UK a second chance in OT.
Kentucky scored 19 points in the second half.

Mason Williams through Kentucky's three exhibition games:
14.0 PPG (second on team)
69.6% FG (led team)
66.7% 3P (led team)
2.0 SPG (T-lead)
EARLY, but performed as Kentucky's best guard and much better than the 145th-ranked prospect.

Execution and effort have been really poor tonight for the last exhibition before the start of the regular season.
Great start to the half for Kentucky. The defense creates a turnover, then Milan gets the 3 ball to drop in transition.

HALFTIME: @KentuckyMBB holds a four-point lead at the half, looking to finish the last 20 minutes strong and go 3-0 in exhibition matchups!
Shooting 6-17 from deep as a team with a couple of turnovers and missed free throws as well.
How do you feel about the first half #BBN?

Last media time-out of the half, Kentucky has started to create some distance, leading 33-20.
UK has hit 4 of their last 5 field goals.

Oh no….
Alex Wilkins was seen walking off the court and heading to the locker room.
Appeared as if he tweaked his ankle on a ball screen.
Not what BBN wants to hear.

Already dealing with multiple injuries before the start of the regular season, Kentucky guard Alex Wilkins walks back to the locker room after seemingly twisting his ankle.
It never ends.
