JUST IN: Donald Trump pardoned more than 1,000 people charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, including many already convicted of felony crimes such as assaulting police and destroying property. He also commuted the sentences of leaders of the far-right Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.
“These are the hostages,” Trump said, referring to the people he incited to storm the Capitol in an attempt to stay in power after losing the election. Absolutely appalling!
