What is going on here? If true, I'd go and pick my child up at the end of school and refuse to allow a school to detain my child. Sometimes things just need to be challenged.

My son was removed from class twice last week and two after school detention because he didn’t have the school branded bag (the strap had broken) sent my mum to buy him a new one, £30! This has got to stop. Luckily I could afford it but I know most can’t so what would happen?
