Aljamain Sterling strongly pushes back on Andy Foster’s call to ban oblique kicks:
“He’s gotta stop with this bullshit... It takes too long to recover? I mean, how do you recover from CTE? What the f*** are we talking about?
We’re getting head kicked with no shin pads on. We’re getting elbowed to the dome multiple times because referees want to watch a murder scene happen in real time.
Can we fix accountability for following the rules first before we start trying to add new rules and change stuff?
An oblique kick? Move your leg out the fucking way. How about that? How about you practice the technique of moving your leg out of the way?
You guys wanna watch us play paddle ball? What the f***?”

Aljamain Sterling lays out what he wants from the final chapters of his career:
“At the end of the day, I am a prizefighter. I am here fighting for money, but I have enough money. I’ve done a very good job with my investments and things like that. This is icing on the cake.
The main goal for me, and I expressed this to Hunter, was fighting for gold again, fighting for a legacy and trying to do something that’s been so hard for many people to do.
I’ve been in this position before... I think the storm is coming, and I’m going to shock the world again. And if I don’t, I’m gonna die trying.”
