This is why expecting the Pirates to keep a guy like Lowe should be entirely possible. On top of some really logical movements you could squeeze the dollars anyhow. If he wants it, and they want it, beat the new “floor” and get it done. Assume the spend, beat the mandate.
I’m not sure what to expect this offseason in MLB. I mean, a lockout, obviously. But we have a month before then. Last time it felt like a lockout was looming, owners spent big. If you don’t spend now, you’d be smart to figure somehow, someway, you’re gonna. So sign guys now.
