Been invited by a colleague who lives in Shenzhen for something to eat and beers. This is the view from their balcony right now. I have never seen a sunset meet hi tech future like this. It's otherworldly. And to top it off the mountains in the background is Hong Kong.

These fuckers from the past are so good man. You see clips from guys like Van Basten, Gascoigne even more recent Totti, and I’m thinking what the fuck are we seeing nowadays. The guys used to be elite footballers, now you are an elite efficient production machine
📆 On this day, in 1999, Paolo Di Canio scored twice against Arsenal. ▪️ The first goal was 𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗙𝗙𝗬. ▪️ The second goal was 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗖 Di Canio.

I just listened to the 14 minute live Like A Hurricane from Weld. His solo goes on for about 8 minutes of it, is the most basic soloing you've ever heard yet sounds like the fall of the fucking Roman Empire.
Love the Neil quote about one-note guitar solos when he said something like, “People say that it's only one note, but in my head, each one is different.” You see him here bending the same note repeatedly for stretches, and he's right; every single one of them is different.

To justify the arms economy, it's as simple as that.
For the life of me, I still cannot understand the British obsession with Russia. They share no borders, have no direct economic competition with Russia, and Russia neither claims British territory nor poses a direct threat to Britain. So what is it? Nostalgia for a lost empire and a desperate need to remain relevant on the world stage?

I use AI to help illustrate my children’s books. Does that make the art bad? I set the style and scene, then make edits on the image as needed. I would not be able to publish them otherwise.

You heard the Pope, using AI makes you ugly, ontologically hollow, and worst of all, Protestant
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

He looks and sounds like he was created in a New Labour cloning facility fusing DNA from a lock of James Purnell's hair with an all access 2003 Labour conference lanyard. Even the name has come from Peter Mandelson's approved clone naming manual.
Govt minister Keir Mather is asked about record diesel prices. He says: ".. I want to reassure people that they can still go to the pumps and fill up with diesel because the supply that we have to the UK is inherently resilient" They can't if they can't afford it.

Ralph Miliband here succintly explains why the 'broad church' metaphor is held so dearly by the right wing of the Labour party.
Kinnock was right to take on the entryists of the Militant Tendency. Labour should always be a broad church, and there should be a place in the party for the radical left. But party members should not be forced to accept as bedfellows people who are ultimately dishonest about their methods and motives (and who would never have achieved more than a derisory vote if they stood on their own ticket). Militant was a party within a party. Everyone knew it. They needed to be drummed out.

No one has ever approached the guitar tone Young plays. The only way I can describe it is he's constantly at war with his guitar never quite winning or getting it under control. And the results are incredible

Currently doing Berger’s Ways of Seeing with my high school poetry students. It’s so exciting to them, and they talk about being consumed by Instagram and TikTok. I think teens need Berger desperately right now. We need a Ways of Seeing that addresses accelerationist aesthetics.
