Iβm not sure I can ever do this. Too much of a story guy. I do feel there must be a lot of people who approach film this way because there is a whole genre of formally and visually masterful directors who make critically acclaimed movies that bore the shit out of me.
Iβm skeptical of the sustainability because of usage rate and lack of help, but if Luka kept up the efficiency with a decent seed, he should obviously run away with it
They are βonto somethingβ in the sense that they are good at making a profitable piece of technology. That doesnβt mean they need to be taken particularly seriously outside of their narrow domain of expertise, though.

Barry Lyndon is a coffee-table movie; we might as well be at a three-hour slide show for art-history majors. (1975)

Congresswoman Stevens is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.
El-Sayed: At the end of the day, I actually don't think about Haley Stevens. Because you know what? I'm just less interested in the politics of it all than I am in the policy of it allβ¦
If you are somebody who believes that we should stand up to hate, and you have watched this last campaign, I think we probably would not want to support Mike Rogers and Donald Trump and JD Vance. If you're somebody who believes that we need more health care, not less than you probably don't want to vote for the guy who voted to raise prescription drug prices or keep them high 19 times and takes money from big pharma and big insurance. If you're somebody who believes in public education, you probably do not want to support the guy who architected the initial legislation in 1999 that ended up stripping local control from Detroit public schools and the local community. If you're somebody who believes that you should have a right to a union, you probably don't want to support the guy who busts unions. So I'm just saying that the principles that we believe in as Democrats are really quite clear. I stand for all of them.
Iβve been worried about AESβs electability, but now I have to admit we are incredibly lucky he won the primary. Should probably work hard to make sure she never works in Dem politics again.

I think Haley Stevens has deluded herself into believing sheβs some kind of beloved figure with a large following rather than someone a lot of partisan Dems rallied behind after McMorrow stumbled because they worried about potentially losing the seat.

Jean-Luc Picard remains the single most compelling vision of progressive politics I am familiar with β secular, rational, compassionate, egalitarian; a believer in progress & abundance but also duty, hard work, and a constant battle for self-improvement and improving the world.

The NYT is so desperate to find an October surprise they bury the lede:
1) The staffer retracted her statement.
2) The staffer was a fired disgruntled employee.
3) They stuff this line in the article:
"Ballot-stacking tactics are common in politics and generally considered legal β and have been employed by both parties in Alaska."
SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot.
But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."
