In 10 years, the Liberal Party in the Northern Beaches has gone from delivering a Liberal Prime Minister to having no federal seats, no nominated councillors and a bloke named Rory Amon as the ranking state Liberal MP in the area. We are watching an extinction event.

Hearing reports that angry NSW Liberal council candidates will rally outside the Liberal HQ tomorrow morning. They will hold placards reading “Justice for the Georges River Council Mortdale Ward 3” and “Fairness for the Frenchs Forest Ward of Northern Beaches Council Four”
Hell hath no fury like a wronged local council candidate. I’ll be surprised if Shields still has his job tomorrow.
