The government's own $2 million review said AHS spends less on management than other provinces.
So the government fired the AHS board.
Fired it again.
Split AHS into four agencies.
Split the Health Minister's job into four.
Yes, I got lost there too. My goodness.
Here's what happened.
In order.
With the quotes.

Red Deer and Lethbridge surgery-centre contests are cancelled.
One reason Minister jones gave?
"a transition to new procurement oversight under Acute Care Alberta."
Procurement means buying.
It includes who will deliver the goods.
The surgery-centre story is in the Due Diligence thread.
Buttercups? Tomorrow?
Part D.
This weekend the Premier said Alberta has the most hospital spaces in its history.
We checked the old numbers.
Be well. Be loud. Be love.

THIS. All-the-way THIS.
The world would be a better place if everybody thought like this, rather than engaging in the never-ending power games to gain power and position.
The Conservatives in BC have an opportunity here.
Will they take it?

A New Chapter for British Columbia — A Little Optimism, Please.
I’ve always considered myself a centrist, generally leaning left when it comes to voting. I believe in fiscal responsibility, social responsibility, equality, individual freedoms, and a government that serves everyone, not just those who voted for it.
Yesterday, British Columbians made a significant choice. And while it wasn’t necessarily the outcome I would have chosen, I respect the democratic process and the people who participated in it.
We are entering uncertain territory.
The BC Conservatives are preparing to govern under an interim leader who was not elected to that position by party members. The party has experienced considerable internal turmoil, leadership changes, and divisions. There have also been troubling public statements and controversies involving some of its members.
Those concerns are legitimate. They shouldn’t be ignored, dismissed, or forgotten.
But here’s where I want to take a different approach.
I genuinely hope they succeed.
Not because I’ve suddenly become a Conservative. Not because I’ve abandoned my principles. And certainly not because I’m prepared to overlook rhetoric or policies that conflict with those principles.
I hope they succeed because I want British Columbia to succeed.
I want better healthcare, affordable housing, a strong economy, responsible spending, thriving businesses, environmental stewardship, and meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
I want a government that listens, learns, admits mistakes, and recognizes that representing British Columbia means representing all British Columbians.
And I want an opposition that holds government accountable through facts, constructive criticism, and meaningful alternatives rather than outrage for the sake of outrage.
We don’t yet know how this government will perform. We don’t know how its leadership will evolve or how campaign promises will translate into policy.
What we can do is pay attention.
Support good decisions. Challenge bad ones. Demand evidence. Expect accountability. And apply those standards consistently, regardless of which party holds power.
I’m exhausted by the misinformation, hostility, personal attacks, and endless division that have become so commonplace in political discussions.
We can disagree without becoming enemies. We can criticize without demonizing. And we can hope for good outcomes without surrendering our convictions.
Being optimistic doesn’t mean being blind. Being critical doesn’t mean being negative.
So, congratulations to those who have earned the responsibility of governing British Columbia.
The election is over. The responsibility is just beginning.
I sincerely hope you rise to the occasion.
Our province deserves nothing less.

We desperately need beds in AB.
We don't need our premier trying to fool us that we have them.
If we could even get back to the bed number we had in 2000 it would be a massive improvement.
GoA: set a goal and then get it done!
Hey Alberta: is this incompetence or a full on intentional lie?
9003 Acute Care Spaces is NOWHERE near a record number for our prov
In the late 1980s we had 17,790 acute care spaces in hospitals (~12,000 acute care beds, +LTC beds)
1988: 7.4 beds/1000
2026: 1.5 beds/1000
1/2
And more lies. Why isn't Poilievre speaking up to save workers' jobs?
Could it be because he is addicted to "never let a crisis go to waste" mentality?
Or are the MAGAturds influencing his behaviour?
When 'Anti-Liberal' also means 'Anti-Canadian'.

Clarity speaks out today, talking to the rest of us, Ralph's "Severely Normal Albertans".
EVERY politician needs to hear and acknowledge this; we're tired of Populist Identity games, we're tired of grievance political theater.

Danielle Smith was all in on separatism until she saw the polls weren’t turning.
Then she crossed the floor, like she always does.
She has no ideals besides self preservation.
Same ol’ Danielle.

Can Danielle Smith please point to where Justin Trudeau attempted to destroy the fossil-fuel industry in Alberta?
"The referendum has given us a Mandate" she says.
Remember the referendum where you got a "mandate" to leave the DST the hell alone, but you went ahead and changed it anyway?
Now our little kids get to walk to school in the dark, but at least it's daylight in Atlanta. #ableg
