What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

“Sultans of Swing” is the debut single from Dire Straits’ 1978 self-titled debut album. Written by Mark Knopfler, the rootsy rock classic introduced the band's distinctive sound, reaching #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, #8 on the UK Singles Chart, and the Top 10 in several other countries. Knopfler's clean, fingerpicked guitar style quickly became one of the most recognizable sounds in rock music. The song was inspired by a real, modest jazz band performing in a nearly empty pub in Deptford, London. When the singer announced they were the "Sultans of Swing," Mark Knopfler found the contrast between the gritty pub setting and the grandiose name too good to ignore, inspiring an affectionate tribute to musicians who play purely for the love of music. Before becoming a global hit, the original demo was famously recorded for just £12.50, and after receiving airplay on BBC Radio London, it attracted the attention of several major record labels, eventually leading to the band's recording contract with Vertigo Records. Its guitar solo has since been frequently ranked among the greatest of all time, helping establish Dire Straits as one of the most influential guitar-driven bands of the late 1970s.

£3.3 million charged to overseas visitors for NHS treatment in Wales. Just £1.55 million recovered. That leaves Welsh taxpayers footing the bill for the rest. Only Reform will put Welsh taxpayers first.

Iconic. “Do you trust the Russians?” Harry Truman was once asked “No. They broke every agreement they ever made with me. That's why I don't trust them,” replied the 33rd President of the United States. 80 years later, nothing has changed…

One of the real constants in British public opinion is that people think that it matters not just for Ukraine but for the UK that Ukraine defeats Russia, which spans voters of all parties and so no surprise the Government leaned into further support in the Budget

😄 A blow from an unexpected quarter! Mozambique's president has made Putin a laughingstock The African leader posted a photo on social media from the so-called Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). As we all know, the Russian dictator is self-conscious about his height, and photos like this are a rare sight in his official photo collection. Wonder if the photographer is still alive?

NEW: Russia is actively supporting Houthi operations to disrupt global energy markets by providing the Houthis with satellite imagery of Saudi oil and military infrastructure. W 2016 roku Land Rover zabił klasycznego Defendera. Kiedy z taśmy w Solihull zjeżdżał ostatni prawilny Defender, Jim Ratcliffe – szef giganta chemicznego Ineos i fanatyk off-roadu – siedział ze znajomymi w londyńskim pubie The Grenadier.
