The overwhelming majority of parents think their kids are better at athletics than they are. They also think lack of playing time/performance is the coach's fault or someone else's fault. Guess what...the kids KNOW where they fit in the pecking order...they know why they play or don't play. They know why they perform or don't perform. Kids know exactly who the players are.

One of the toughest parts of coaching is balancing the opportunity to help people who are struggling, while maintaining your program standards. If you have to lower your standards and accountability to keep them, you might not be able to help them.

This guy always works hard and keeps achieving more and more. Stay on that grind young man.
Good looking swing here from Ethan Carswell (‘26, Overland Park, KS), as he rips a 2B down the RF line. Advanced swing and approach for his age, has certainly not been outmatched by older competition. Intriguing young bat to follow @PGMidwestBB #PGSpringLeague
YOUR voice has the most impact on YOU! STOP poisoning yourself w/ negativity. STOP consuming negative material. STOP surrounding yourself w/ negative people. The only way outside noise can impact you negatively is if you allow it to change the way you SPEAK TO YOURSELF!! #Mindset

It’s easy to be a critic or a cheerleader. It’s harder to be a coach. A critic sees your weaknesses and attacks your worst self. A cheerleader sees your strengths and celebrates your best self. A coach sees your potential and helps you become a better version of yourself.

Completed my 2nd annual Murph today! 59:11. Not as fast as last year but I got it done.
Rest and recovery is just as important as the grind. What's your favorite way to relax?

Sometimes you have to take one step back in order to take three steps forward. The question is then, are you willing to take one step back?

The hardest thing for some athletes is to let go of their ego & take weight off the bar in the short term to fix an injury or technique problem. “Nor would a wise man, seeing that he was in a hole, go to work and blindly dig it deeper…”

More weight, more reps, or better quality, what's most important? pezcyclingnews.com/toolbox/t…
Always have a progression to teaching skills. Don't just start from anywhere to save yourself time.
Improve vertical sprinting force by: 1 Upright posture w/ torso & hips neutral. 2 Minimal swing of thigh behind body after toe-off. 3 Maximal lift of thigh in front during fwd recovery phase. 4 Aggressive strike toward ground @ end of swing phase. 5 Stiff ground contact.
