It's worth the time. There are many distractions eating away at our productivity. Pick and choose one of six months is logical and a worthy time investment. The paradox is this downside of focus is actually an upside in discipline, enjoyment, keen learning, and productivity.
All you have to do is commit for 6 months. That's not a lot. It's actually very little. 6 months is 1% of 50 years, and most people can't stick to something that will change the trajectory of their life for 2 weeks.

Interesting when you order fast food through a drive thru when it's busy takes longer and the question arises when to park and order inside. Then the lines seem to disappear. Interesting when it's peak time how to handle it most efficiently. Thanks to @JeanDuchaine for being the originator of the drive thru. It's made a difference how to order fast food and products.

Digital food will be a part of the next wave of meal consumption within 20 years absorbing food in bits and bytes.

AI is changing the grocery industry and will improve it in ways I'm unsure of. Perhaps managing inventory, improving packaging for brands and customer experience.

If digital food ever becomes reality, it's important it contains low sodium.

@BrianRoemmele, would you be interested in doing another epic podcast with @jaltucher? You are both among the smartest people on Earth, and the episode you did together a couple of years ago was one for the ages.

Hope Brian and James can reunite again for a podcast. Their posts related to developments and updates in the AI industry, about preserving books, along with James's update on health and longevity, and so on are important and ultra relevant in the next wave of technology.

Looking forward to restart posting on my blog soon. Might not post every day. Kept up blogging for about five consecutive years and noticed how poor my posts were for the first four. The irony that as my writing improved, I stopped. The headlines were shorter, the topics were interesting, and so on. If you have something to write about, enjoy and write for yourself first. Your audience will eventually find you.

I wish drive thru workers would ask to please the customers to check and make sure the order is correct. I've had two instances from @McDonalds where I they missed something and went back to pick up what they forgot to put in. I get McD every so often but may go there less often. I should create a brand sticker to place on the bags that says "Thank you, please check your order before you go." Disappointing, and time consuming to go back, but I always show appreciation to the workers because I know they're busy.

I envision the next niche wave of delivery will focus on niches like beverages and water: 12 packs of soft drinks, probiotic, sparkling water, and so on. I've seen customers load up on 12 packs, and 2 liters. cartons, which is time consuming, and heavy to lift for some, but having someone deliver them faster with quality service could be a differentiating selling point.

Even though grocery sales are challenging because of higher prices, grocery delivery services, based on speaking with reps, are steady and in demand.

It'll be interesting when digital food becoming reality in the future. Seems like it's not possible but could be in several years.

The supermarkets who can keep up with trends and stocking shelves, while engaging with their customers and the delivery workers on a consistent basis may have the best have the opportunity to endure and thrive in the long term.

Thanks and congrats to all the supermarket workers getting food on the shelves, unloading trucks, helping customers, and making a difference. Stock clerks, by the way, are interesting and resourceful. They're problem solvers, good at organizing and assembling products and pallets, in good shape moving around all day, some play video games, other watch movies, while others are late bloomers and start after coming out of retirement looking to make a few bucks. They have lots of interests and abilities, which makes them marketable.

It's inevitable AI will help improve efficiency in grocery sales, buying products, forecasting sales, inventory management, and merchandising.
71
Learning progresses with persistent practice whether using a pallet jack, solving calculus problems, which may take longer to master, or playing a musical instrument. The will and incentive to practice is fueled by enthusiasm, encouragement from mentors, and time to focus. Making mistakes is a must as well, despite what anyone tells you. Hope you find what you like to learn and strive to do it well.

It's impressive, but part of the job, when stock clerks and team leaders work several pallets of products by restocking and replenishing to shelves from the stockroom in a few hours.

Grocery delivery is effective on cold days where people want to stay home. Logical. Customers may need groceries but when it's cold wish to stay home. Grocery delivery is effective on cold days and satisfied customers.

Facing reality that AI performs many tasks well. I've spoken to a grocery manager about how AI is 10x effective forecasting grocery buying for managing inventory. Just in time ordering is another way it's excelling.
