That’s exactly one of the problems we’re solving. Okrika already has seller verification, identity checks for verified shops, reporting and blocking, dispute handling, and inspection flows for cars and properties. We’re building accountability into the platform to make buying and selling safer for everyone.
One important thing is we do not involve in the transaction we provide platform for both seller and buyers

Building a startup in Nigeria is one thing. Building something that actually solves a problem is another.
For a while now, we’ve been working on something called Okrika, and I want to share a little of what we’re trying to build.
Think about how people buy and sell things online today. You post a product, struggle to get people to see it, wait for messages, and sometimes lose potential customers simply because you weren’t available to respond.
For small businesses and everyday sellers, getting noticed can be harder than actually finding something worth selling.
That’s one of the problems we’re trying to solve with Okrika.
Okrika is a social marketplace bringing social media and buying and selling together in one place.
Instead of just uploading products and waiting for buyers, people can discover products through a social feed, follow sellers, post content, interact, chat, buy, sell, and even swap items.
We want to make it easier for ordinary people and small businesses to reach customers without needing a huge advertising budget or thousands of followers.
But we’re taking it a step further with AI.
In this video, I’m testing Okrika AI Call inside the marketplace.
The idea is to give businesses an AI assistant that can speak with customers, handle enquiries, and help them stay available even when they’re busy.
We’re still building, testing, fixing things, and learning along the way. Not everything is perfect yet, but the vision is much bigger than just another marketplace.
We want to build a platform where anyone can start selling, get discovered, connect with people, and grow something meaningful.
The Okrika mobile app is on its way. We’re starting with Nigeria, and there’s a lot more we’re working towards.
I’d genuinely love to hear what you think about what we’re building.
Follow @OkrikaNG and be part of the journey.

Lagos is not a city. It’s a different planet entirely 😭
And somehow, everybody here thinks they’re normal.

I showed my mum Okrika ONCE… now nothing in this house is safe 😭
At this point, I might wake up and find myself listed for sale.
Who else has a mum like this?

This landlord tried to double the rent for painting a gate that hasn’t changed since 2019 😭
But Chioma came with receipts, and the whole match changed.
Be honest, who won this final?

Now it’s a free world game 😂❤️ No more fight, no more insults — just builders building.
This is actually great work from LagosLife. Big respect 👏🏾🎮
AbujaLife is building too, with our own Abuja story, gameplay and experience. Different cities, different vibes — plenty room for everyone to win.

Small context because some people thought #AbujaLife was meant to be competition 😂 it really wasn’t.
Big shoutout to @Shalom_HeyEliy for #LagosLife 🤝🏾❤️ I genuinely love what she built.
Abuja people kept seeing Lagos Life and asking, “what about us?” 😭 so I said alrighttt, let’s build our own Abuja madness too 😂🏙️
That’s how Abujacity.life happened.
But the funny part is, #AbujaLife isn’t even the only thing I’ve been building.
There’s also Okrika — something made around how we actually buy, sell and look for things in Nigeria. You can literally describe what you’re looking for and let Okrika Hunt do the searching.
So nah, no Lagos vs Abuja beef 😂 we love both. I’m just building things I personally wish existed here.
Watch the video, it’ll make sense 👇🏾
