day 2 of preparing @ghosteTrade for public launch today was one of the trickiest days yet. every trader wants 2 things from a swap: a smooth experience and not the good price but the best one. but delivering both gets complicated when you’re aggregating quotes from two major aggregators on @Solana i had to carefully consider fees, slippage, price impact and minimum received without making the quote confusing to get it right, i placed several test trades and used the product from a real user POV the goal was simple: give traders the best possible experience while keeping every cost and deduction transparent inside the quote UI. but the one tricky issue i faced was making sure the quote traders saw was both true and still valid by the time the trade is excuted at first, deducting slippage from the main trade made the swap rate look worse, almost like we were charging an fee but slippage isn’t a fee. it’s more of a safety net that protects the trader if the price moves before execution how did we solve this? i separating the expected output from the minimum received and building a customizable slippage tab where traders can choose a preset or enter their own tolerance but there was another problem. a valid quote could become dull while the user are signing a transaction so i added live quote updates that refresh and re-rank Jupiter and DFlow every 5 secs while keeping the last valid quote visible we also fetch a fresh route immediately before execution and block the trade if the price has moved beyond the trader’s slippage limit now the main field shows the real market quote, minimum received shows the protected worst-case amount and the route stays fresh throughout the swap yesterday was about UI/animation, today is about swap optimization follow @ghosteTrade for launch updates

I JUST WON MY FIRST HACKATHON 🎉 i only started building seriously in late March. my first hackathon was rough. i rushed the project, couldn’t ship what i originally imagined and walked away without winning anything. but it was my first step towards building something real. then i entered my second hackathon. this time, i built Ghoste on the Vanish Core API, a product based on a problem i genuinely wanted to solve. yesterday, i found out we took 3rd place in the Vanish side track at the @colosseum Frontier Hackathon. my second hackathon ever. my first hackathon win. and the first time i’ve been paid for something i built. this is genuinely crazy to me 😭 i’m only getting started. this win gives me both the support and motivation to push Ghoste further → ship more features, improve the app’s speed and get it ready for public launch. we’re still in private beta, but gearing up for public launch soon. this feels like the push i needed to make that happen. and finally, huge thanks to everyone who supported me along the way, and to the @vanishTrade team for giving builders like me the opportunity to turn an idea into something real.
