Trump and his allies have hurt our future in a way that none of our enemies could have managed. And all of our enemies rejoice at this. nytimes.com/2026/10/31/scien…

By all appearances, Trump seems to be experiencing some type of cognitive decline. I don’t understand why our media isn’t hounding him the way they did with Biden!

WE DON’T WANT POLITICAL THEATER. WE WANT ACCOUNTABILITY. Enough with the press conferences, empty promises, and investigations that lead nowhere. And spare us the tired speeches about putting our differences aside and working together. UNITY IS NOT IMMUNITY. We want subpoenas. Sworn testimony. Evidence made public. Criminal referrals where warranted. And prosecutions when the evidence supports them. No backroom deals. No protecting political allies. No sweeping corruption under the rug in the name of bipartisanship. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DIDN’T DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY JUST TO WATCH CONGRESS NEGOTIATE IT AWAY.

16/Kushner is selling a “new European Security Architecture” which is Putin-speak for “kill and replace NATO.” If we don’t hear a full-throated defense of NATO, and soon, from Jeffries and Schumer, then you can assume we have a very, very big problem on our hands. As does Europe.

Here we go again. Once and for all: You must be someone who has just stumbled upon me. I work in the legal field and I have 20 years of experience in the law. That being said I can tell you that the vast majority of the Epstein and Maxwell evidence, which some call “files”, was under seal until about July 2024. Maxwell’s appeals and legal defense opportunities had to be exercised and exhausted before that evidence could be released to the public. The last thing anyone wants is for her to get out of jail on a technicality that could’ve been prevented. Right? Biden chose not to release the evidence because that would’ve opened up a can of worms that would have potentially tainted Trump and Harris’s campaigns and by tainted I mean interfered with. So he followed the DOJ policy that no information like this could be released within about 90 days of an election. Frankly had he released even a handful of the evidence, Trump likely wouldn’t have been elected. (See: Hilary 2016). And in his defense from a legal perspective only the allegations would’ve been unfounded or unproven and could not have been proven without a doubt before the election. So like it or not it’s highly likely that Biden did Trump a favor.
Replying to @SassiestMinx
Why didn't the previous dem administration release the Epstein files? No dem has given me an answer to this that didn't involve "BUT TRUMP"

You think this is partisan? Left vs Right? Nah, dawg. This is about the profession. Professions self-police. Doesn’t matter who you are or who you work for. Sometimes the self-policing is being ostracized by peers in your unit. Other times it’s via the UCMJ or the various administrative tools available to commanders. Still yet, there may be times when a peer or superior pulls you aside because you’re missing the mark. You see, maintaining the profession’s health is not incumbent on the HASC or SASC (although they have a role). It’s the purview of its members — it’s a bi-partisan effort to steward the profession, which I’m pretty sure I read about somewhere.

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me QAnon was a Russian psyop all along? No way! 🥴
Are you fucking kidding us? The US Secretary of Defense posts “Patriots in control,” a notorious QAnon slogan. THREE MINUTES later, Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev responds with “WWG1WGA,” another QAnon cult mantra. What the actual fuck is this? A coordinated trolling operation? A joint US-Russian QAnon convention? Or have the lunatics finally taken over both asylums? These people are running two nuclear powers, for fuck's sake.

They can try and lie about it now, but this was Marco Rubio’s first public comment about the Iran War after it began, where he states the specific reason it was started. Trump, Vance and Rubio all deny this now, but this is the one and only time they told the truth about it.

This tweet encourages officers to speak publicly against the policy decisions of our civilian leaders. Definitionally it is counter to civilian control of the armed forces Adam claims to defend. It is not an officer’s place to arbitrarily decide their policy preferences are not being met by the civ-mil bargain, and therefore should be redefined to align with said preferences. This idea — even more-so than his egregious tweets that frequently make the army look bad — is what makes him unprofessional.
This is a weak take, and the reason why the military has been overrun with rotting ideologies. THE OLD BARGAIN IS GONE! For most of modern American history, officers understood a pretty simple deal: stay out of partisan politics, keep the uniform above faction, give civilian leaders your best advice, and execute lawful orders. That worked because the restraint was mutual. It's not anymore. You're literally living inside the Prisoner's Dilemma and your response to the aggressor is to lay down and take it. Retired generals endorse presidential candidates. Politicians speak DIRECTLY to troops about which orders to refuse. Military credentials are used as political weapons. Every firing, deployment, investigation, and command dispute gets dragged into ideological combat in real time. So stop pretending silence is automatically neutral. It's what's killing us. The most intolerant side of any fight is the one who wins. You seem to advocate for infinite tolerance. An officer can remain nonpartisan and still defend the institution. Criticizing ideological capture, broken personnel systems, weak leadership, bad military policy, or threats to civilian control doesn't make someone a party operative. The law still matters. Article 88 still has elements. Article 92 and 133 still exist. Words matter, of course. Targets matter. Context matters. Discomfort with someone’s tone does not magically create an offense. The old norm of silence was built for a world where the military wasn't constantly being used as political terrain. That world is gone. Objectively, it is gone. You are living in a fantasy. But the answer isn't necessarily lawlessness. It's courage with discipline AND defiance. Keep the oath above party. Stay inside the law. Never use the uniform as a campaign sign. But don't confuse professionalism with muteness while everyone else fights over the soul of the force. Silence did NOT save the institution from politicization. It gave the people politicizing it more room. Because people who think like you, let them.

Well said 👏👏👏
For nearly two years, the American people watched as Congress surrendered its constitutional authority to Donald Trump, abandoning its responsibility to serve as a check on executive power. We watched ICE agents descend on American neighborhoods, terrorizing families, separating loved ones, and conducting operations that raised grave questions about constitutional rights and deadly uses of force. We watched a president and those closest to him blur the lines between public service, personal enrichment, and political power. We watched American farmers struggle under the weight of tariffs, retaliatory trade policies, rising costs, and disappearing markets. We watched our closest allies alienated, decades of diplomatic relationships damaged, and America’s credibility on the world stage eroded. We watched federal agencies gutted, career public servants pushed out, and scientific expertise dismissed. We watched the Department of Justice face political pressure while the independence of our institutions came under attack. We watched billionaires gain extraordinary influence while working families struggled to afford groceries, housing, healthcare, and childcare. We watched immigrants demonized, transgender Americans targeted, protesters vilified, and vulnerable communities turned into political punching bags. We watched attacks on voting rights, threats against political opponents, assaults on the free press, and efforts to undermine the very institutions designed to protect our democracy. We watched the normalization of corruption, cruelty, dishonesty, and contempt for the rule of law. And perhaps most disturbing of all, we watched members of Congress who swore an oath to defend the Constitution remain silent, make excuses, or actively enable the erosion of their own institution’s authority. But the American people were watching. We were listening. We were remembering. And now, we are demanding accountability. Not revenge. Not political retaliation. Not another round of empty speeches and promises. Accountability under the law. Accountability for abuses of power. Accountability for the damage inflicted on our country. Because elections are not simply about changing who occupies the seats of power. They are about changing what those in power are permitted to get away with. The American people did not fight to reclaim their government just to watch a new Congress protect the people who abused it. We did our part at the ballot box. Now Congress must do its part under the Constitution.

Exactly!
Raskin on SCOTUS: These people call themselves textualists. Where do you see in the text of the constitution that the president has immunity for felony crimes he actually commits in office under the core auspices of the presidency?

I read JD Vance's post on this site yesterday and at first I was shocked. The Vice President all but admitted that his own administration made a mistake going to war with Iran. I can't think of a sitting VP breaking with his President this publicly in my lifetime. And at first glance his analysis seems spot on. His first prescription is to end the war. A war that he and the President, until this week, refused to even call a war. It's hard to disagree with him. But like everything MAGA, the thread of truth is there to hide the larger truth. And the larger truth is this. Tuesday was the greatest repudiation of a sitting President by voters in the history of this country. Not a repudiation of a policy. A repudiation of a man. The message was not only about Iran or Israel or slogans or even the price at the pump. The message was simple. WE ARE DONE WITH DONALD TRUMP. We are done with his lies. We are done with the corruption and the gaslighting. We are done with the insanity. We are done with the cruelty. The message from Mississippi to Iowa, from Kansas to Maine, from North Carolina to Texas, young and old, North and South, East and West, was the same. Fuck Donald Trump. This country desperately needs a healthy Republican Party. A party with room for Mitt Romney and Thomas Massie, for Chris Christie and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Marjorie Taylor Greene. A party that puts this constitutional republic above the interests of one man. A party that knows the difference between a Ken Paxton and a John Cornyn, between a Vivek Ramaswamy and a Mike DeWine. That is the message voters sent on Tuesday, with more ballots cast than in any midterm in American history. WE ARE DONE WITH DONALD TRUMP. The sooner the brave members of whatever remains of the Republican Party understand that, the sooner we can begin to heal. I hope Democrats in Congress heard it too. Voters sent the same message in 2020, and we failed to make it stick. I for one don't think this country can afford 26 more months of this madness before we do the one thing voters just demanded in historic numbers. Trump needs to leave, and he needs to leave now. All it would take this January is eleven Republican senators willing to acknowledge the existential threat this lawless President poses to the country and the world. Eleven brave Republicans need to stand up and end this madness. Save their party. Save the country. It's up to all of us to give them the courage to do what's right.

Isn’t Schumer’s first move to make clear the future senate won’t vote on any Iran war budget while Hegseth is SecDef? If Trump fires H before, he looks like he’s capitulating to Dems. If he keeps him, Schumer has set the groundwork for impeachment with GOP support. 1/

A reminder to MAGA to why the fuck you got slaughtered. Trump made the following promises. -Energy Prices down by half, in 12 months. -Gas below $2.00 -Releasing the Epstein files. -Lower electricity costs. -Lower grocery costs. -Lower airfare costs. -Lower housing costs. -Lower costs on ‘everything’ -No New wars. -Lower government spending. Then he started a war, and caused prices to skyrocket everywhere with his tariffs, then enriched himself and his family and friends. He sold pardons, manipulated the market, instructed his DOJ to cover up the Epstein files, and said he didn’t care if people were suffering at the pump, “we’re making a fortune” Just in case you retards needed a reminder.

Awesome. 👏 👏👏
Open letter to my dad. Recently, you said that trump attacking my farm was not personal; deal with it. Attacking my business was not personal; deal with it. Cutting off funding for my wife and her cancer research was not personal, and deal with it. And how great trump was doing…. And deal with it. Yesterday I had to have a tooth extracted; it was painful. But not nearly as painful as hearing my dental hygienist, whom I love, was just served with deportation papers. She is here legally with her 3 children from eastern Ukraine. They escaped the war, where she was a dentist and had a full practice there. Her sister, a citizen, sponsored her. She has a job, she pays taxes, and she used to like it here. She didn’t take anyone's job; the practice had the job opening for over a year. Trump just changed the rules, and just to be a shit head, said Ukraine was no longer in danger, and the TPS and visas of all Ukrainian women and children were canceled, and they have 60 days to pack up and leave or face being attacked by ICE as criminals. They now have to go back to Ukraine, they have no home, no job and temple will not have her in a job they need. For what?????? I have news for you guy, 80% of the US population like Ukraine. And this is personal. Trump has sunk the republican party, if he ran today he would be lucky to get 30% of the vote. I would love to debate you on that from now blue TEXAS. You can continue to hide behind your bible while you praise a pedo and liar who is stealing from the USA and making golden statues of himself. How can you still follow trump when he promised to help suffering marine vets with the contaminated water lawsuits ONLY if he won the midterms. Former Marines are fucking dying due to the Camp LaJune water, and Trump said he could have the DOJ do the right thing today. But he is now not going to due to losing the midterms. How can you, as a “proud Marine, and a patriot, be ok with your brothers and sisters being attacked by Trump like that??? I warned you what was coming and due to trump the dems now control the country. I would say at this point that YOU helped trump, that means YOU gave the country to the dems… if as you say I am not a patriot for pointing out what was coming.. What does that make you? I'm sure the fact that Trump will have a ballroom will comfort you when you know that for the rest of your life the Dems will have control of the country… and yes, you helped that. If we had done the right thing and elected Nikki Haley or anyone else, this would not have happened. But no, you wanted revenge against biden, just like a lot of other MAGAs. If being a trump supporter makes you a “patriot,” then that word has the same meaning today as loser. I love the USA, im a conservative, I don’t hate the Rs and I don’t hate the Ds, I saw and warned you what was coming. And I hope that after trump and the magas are gone we can fix things. But that day is not here yet and Rs need to clean things up inside the party or they will never have the government again. and the first thing that needs to happen is that trump needs to pay a price for what he is doing. no hate, just the truth

One Big Beautiful Butt-kicking 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everywhere you look, there are opinions on Tuesday’s midterm election. On the left, it’s gleeful jubilation and on the right it’s elegiac dirges. So, here’s my take on it. I believe the One Big Beautiful Butt-kicking happened because most Americans are angry about the four Cs: Costs, Cruelty, Chaos, and Corruption. And rather than focusing on the issues that matter most to ordinary Americans, Trump – with the acquiescence of this Republican sycophants – started a new war in collaboration with Benjamin Netanyahu, tossed around tariffs and drove up prices for consumers, turned federal law enforcement into his personal Gestapo, embraced America’s enemies and maligned America’s friends, and enriched himself and his oligarch allies while working class Americans saw their financial situations worsen. Millions of Americans who supported Trump in 2024 felt that he abandoned them and the promises he made, and to paraphrase Howard Beale’s famous line in the 1976 movie Network, they were mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. I rarely agree with Ted Cruz, but his post-election assessment of the midterms was spot on: “2026 was not simply a blue wave; it was a blue tsunami. It was an ass kicking. It was not simply a bad 2006 midterm election. It was a Watergate-level repudiation.” I’ve seen some on the right trying to downplay the outcome by claiming that Republican voters just weren’t motivated and stayed home rather than going out and voting. Cruz dismissed that notion saying, “the problem wasn’t turnout. Instead, our voters – Republicans, Libertarians, Independents – showed up and voted, and rejected our candidates, voting Democrat instead.” Republican Mayor of Oklahoma City David Holt summed it up well: “A political party that is morally and intellectually bankrupt deserves the rebuke of the American people. It’s now time to make America good again.” So, Republicans have some soul searching to do as they decide how to revamp their imagio in the wake of the repudiation of Trump and the extreme MAGA agenda. I wish them good luck with that. Democrats deserve to celebrate. I wouldn’t have bet 50 cents on the outcome of Tuesday night. It exceeded the wildest expectations of even the most optimistic progressives. But the celebration needs to end soon because now the hard part begins. I hope Democrats aren’t deluding themselves into thinking that the millions of people who voted for Trump in the past and voted blue on Tuesday fell in love with the Democratic Party and are now wedded to it. The majority of Americans still loathe both parties; they just loathe the Republican Party under the domination of Trump more. If Democrats want to keep these swing voters in the blue camp, Democrats have to demonstrate that they understand what matters to the majority of Americans and will do something about it. Democrats have to prove that they are capable of doing two things at once and keeping both in balance. First, there has to be accountability for the excesses and abuses of the past two years. And that can’t be the blind retribution and cruelty that Trump has employed; it must be focused and deliberate. I believe the failure to hold Nixon accountable after Watergate and Obama’s “look forward, not back” policy that gave impunity to Bush and Cheney for their post-9/11 abuses gave rise to the notion that Trump embraced that those at the top can do whatever they want with no consequences. Accountability needs to be fast, firm, and fair, so Democrats need to get on with it as soon as the 120th Congress is sworn in. At the same time, Democrats have to deliver on the issues that matter to the majority of Americans. That means using the power to conduct oversight hearings and the power of the purse to take actions that will bring down costs. It means taking action to address wealth and income inequality. It means making affordable healthcare available to all Americans. It means making amends with our allies and tightening the screws on America’s enemies. It means revising our wasteful fiscal approach and addressing our 40.5 trillion dollar national debt. It means tax policies that are fair to all and not tilted in favor of billionaires and big corporations. It means shoring up Social Security. It means getting the government out of places where it doesn’t belong, like locker rooms and bathrooms. So, for now, celebrate, but put it to bed soon and get on with the tasks that are in hand. Do it well – and that’s a tall, tall order – and I suspect you’ll be celebrating again in 2028. Do it poorly and you’ll be as sad then as Laura Loomer and Franklin Graham are now.
