Not 1 of the 70 AP voters had Notre Dame below 9 this week. Consensus rank was 4. 70% of voters were between 3 and 6.
Yet the unbiased committee who “leave their hat at the door” somehow arrived at 11.
ESPN and the CFP clearly have a vendetta against Notre Dame for being independent and exerting influence on the sport outside of the power conferences. Complete bullshit
The CFP rankings tonight are proof that ND will be nothing but successful under a 24 team playoff. You can’t leave us out since there are almost never 24 teams better than ND!

ND needs to beat Miami regardless of ranking tn.
That said, the Committee may have done unfixable damage tn
1. They claim signature wins carry infinite weight (hence ND 11). That’s reasonable until you check out the schedules of Miami (1), UCLA (8), Indiana (4).
2. You’d say, well Miami and UCLA are undefeated, that’s fair, but then why is UCLA all the way at 8 but Utah (8-0, no real wins is 3)?
3. The answer would be the eye test, but then that leads us back where we began with 7-1 ND with no signature wins but almost universal eye test approval at 12.
None of this to mention Alabama at 5, 8 spots ahead of a Tennessee team that shellacked them with a backup QB. In Bama’s case the Committee is basically saying if you lose in Athens, you get afforded a win just for showing up.
