The fact that the Ghosts movie is the number one movie in the UK is probably the most cheering and reassuring news I've heard about the UK in some time. We're gonna be OK, folks! 👻
Thanks to all who went to see the Ghosts movie this weekend and made it the UK’s number one film! We’re all so thrilled. Happy Halloween! X

We loved this - such a warm film (my 11yo, who hasn't seen the series, keeps asking to go again)
Last night went to see GHOSTS: THE POSSESSION OF BUTTON HOUSE and once you get over the weird feeling of watching something from the telly at the pictures, it's absolutely gorgeous and full of heart and soul.

Queen Elizabeth paid 12 million to an alleged victim of her son Prince Andrew. Jeffrey Epstein the world's biggest children sex trafficker and abuser was coming and going as he wanted in Royal palaces. The British police provided security for Epstein while he was staying at the Royal palaces. Prince Andrew is still living in Sandringham protected by Charles the British police and British press. Nobody is asking questions about him. Meghan cut off her pedophile father immediately and asked about an investigation against him. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and their daughters took millions of Trafficking Epstein money from young children and the British press and establishment still excuse them nonstop.

An abusive parent or partner will make people think you're mad or cruel if you respond at all, then if you're finally vindicated, the same people will consider you complicit for not doing enough
Did she ever ask how the investigation into her own father’s alleged child abuse was going?

‘For Cass, the scandal that has unfolded in Brighton “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s Gids. She called on the GMC to immediately suspend Hall. “I really would want to ask why he still has a licence to practise.”’ Share token. thetimes.com/article/cfde7b4…

People saying "why didn't Meghan say anything" demonstrating why Meghan didn't say anything. Not believed = mad/attention seeking, believed = somehow implicated

Instead of saying (repeatedly) how much you just want people to be able to calmly and kindly express their views, you could just calmly and kindly express your views, rather like JK Rowling did (assuming you actually have views rather than slogans)
This is painful to watch. You can almost see the cogs moving. An absolutist has realised her original position was built on toxic sand and tries to head for decent solid ground. And fails.

I can see the unfairness of being put on the spot, but this insinuation that you think the "right" thing without ever having to justify it and that you're being generous to the "wrongthinkers" who do justify their position is unfair too. And it does still feed into the houndings.

One of the most depressing thing about the Paris riots is seeing distressed women painted as the villains of the piece. This isn't the only woman who has been singled out.
YOU are gonna get this woman killed. The misinformation about her is astounding. It wasn’t her shop, she was seeing her local area destroyed and was distressed. In her moment of distress she was recorded (morally and legally dubious) and now she’s being photoshopped and touted

The massive amount of collective resource being wasted on dealing with bad legislation because of the failure of ministers in all parts of the UK to do their job is getting beyond depressing. This is not a time or place where we have such resources to waste.
1/ This article by the Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson is downright misleading. What is said about the law is unreliable, it confuses civil statutes for criminal ones and it completely ignores the principles of statutory constructions in crime. I explain why here:

I think about this a lot.
It is very early days - but I am struck by the disconnect between the terror with which the world is greeting the Taliban takeover in Kabul with the pictures we are seeing, where the Taliban seem to be behaving with great restraint. The only chaos in the US controlled airport.

11yo has a school project on the Victorians in Cheltenham. He has also recently watched Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure so we're trying to combine the two in a "hilarious" film using 19yo's cardboard tardis and all of us dressing up. It is proving less fun than it sounds.
