Right next phase in the tumultuous ramshackle journey that is my culinary career - we go to Skool

A younger woman on the earlier train may have called me a βgirlβ, but Iβm
currently surrounded by younger people dressed for a hot summer day while I hunker down in my hoodie, shivering a bit, concerned they might all get a chill.

What if we just built a replica of the Oval Office in a mental hospital and told him he won re-election?
Sprinting down platform 3A to 3B (IYKYK) with an overpriced bottle of Vanilla Coke Zero, jumping on train and suddenly being very thirsty - what could go wrong?
Update: his local council have moved quickly, police were able to get video footage of the attack from a local Salvos shop, the dogs are unregistered & have been picked up to be euthanised. He has decided to pursue charges against the owner, who fled the scene.
Please donβt feel sympathy for this monster - heβs been running around of his own volition in the wet garden and rain all morning.

We could learn so much from 16yo Frank.
13 out of his 16yrs he has been receiving treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Lekaemia
Frank has had 6 relapses.
When he is at home he can be found in the kitchen.
Frank specialities include lobster risotto, salmon gravlax and a beef Wellington for his family every Christmas.
He wants to be a professional chef.
I just love this young boys attitude.
Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?

This beautiful gentle beeg is Piper, 14 yo.
This morning on her walk in Geelong she was viciously attacked by two staffys.
She was leashed. They were not.
She did not survive.
My friend is absolutely devastated.
Put your fucking dogs on a leash.
Iβve known Piper since 2014, when we moved in.
I had a Piper (who passed in June 2025) my neighbour & I met because we couldnβt work out why the other was calling for our dog. 2 Pipers!
Sheβs barked at me, lived with me for a while, & given me many kisses.
I am heartbroken.

The characterisation of Mr and Mrs Bennet in Pride & Prejudice is brilliant. Mr Bennet married for looks and has since come to regret having done so. He copes with Mrs Bennetβs ceaseless prattle by shutting himself in the library, and has developed a caustic, sharp-edged humor (some intriguing parallels are drawn between him and Charlotte Lucas). He is a negligent father who seems only to care for Lizzy.
Non-readers often assume that Austenβs books are syrupy odes to the joys of romance and marriage. Part of the cleverness of her writing is that, with a handful of exceptions, most of the married couples in her stories are miserable. A good marriage is possible, but by no means guaranteed. She is a hard-nosed realist, and her eye misses nothing.
