Sorry, but this completely misses the point. You charged me specifically to select these seats. If BA then chooses to move us, for whatever operational reason, the fee for the service you can no longer provide should be refunded automatically. Why should the customer have to discover the change, find the relevant form and then request their own money back? “Seats are never guaranteed” is not a satisfactory answer when you are charging passengers to choose them. This is exactly the sort of unnecessarily poor customer service that makes people lose faith in British Airways.
