In 1987, Patrick Stewart refused to unpack his suitcase for six straight weeks.
My throat still tightens every time I read why.
Every Hollywood insider told the 47-year-old British stage actor that Star Trek: The Next Generation would be a disaster. Even his closest friend, Ian McKellen, begged him not to throw away his Shakespearean career on a television gamble.
Stewart kept his bags packed by the door, waiting to be fired and sent home to London.
That "six-week failure" lasted 36 years.
Watching him late at night here in Japan, we saw something Hollywood never expected.
In Japan, we call this quiet, unbreakable spirit "Fudoshin," an immovable heart under fire.
Most action heroes scream and fire weapons to look strong.
Captain Picard never needed to raise his voice.
Born into deep poverty in Yorkshire, terrified of a violent home, he left school at age 15 and lost all his hair by 19, convinced his life as an actor was over before it began.
Yet one English teacher, Cecil Dormand, handed that frightened 12-year-old boy a copy of Shakespeare, said "Read it out loud," and secretly paid for his first drama course.
Never forget what happened decades later.
On the morning Queen Elizabeth II knighted him as Sir Patrick Stewart, he invited that same retired schoolteacher to sit beside him at his knighthood luncheon.
No suitcase left unpacked.
No rage on the bridge.
Just a cup of Earl Grey tea, a tug of his uniform, and three quiet words that commanded the galaxy:
"Make it so."
He passed away at 86 surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, and laughter.
And this December, in Avengers: Doomsday, Professor X will grace the screen one final time.
A boy who thought he wouldn't last six weeks in Hollywood gave the world an eternity of nobility.
From Japan, with tears and our deepest salute:
Thank you, Captain. Engage. ✨🖖🇯🇵
Ohne Hermann Hauser gäbe es kein Smartphone! 📱🇦🇹
Anfang der 80er gab der gebürtige Wiener den Anstoß für einen neuartigen, stromsparenden Chip. Daraus entstand die ARM-Architektur – die heute fast jedes Smartphone weltweit antreibt.

The videos from Barcelona are truly shocking. A violent mob devastating the city center, looting stores and setting fires. Families with children locked in a department store during Saturday shopping.
Violent riots in Paris, Marseille, Milan, Genoa, and now Barcelona. What else needs to happen for Europe to understand that the current mass migration approach doesn’t work? We somehow got used to concrete blocks in front of Christmas markets, should we now get used to violent mobs devastating our cities every Saturday?
Socialists push uncontrolled mass immigration because they need the votes. Why should we accept that though? It harms our safety, makes housing less affordable, and lifelong welfare drains the economy. Isn’t that too high a price to the society for left parties to import their voters?
Countries like Poland or Hungary show how to address it. Three things:
First, protect the borders and don’t grant asylum to those crossing illegally. Poland does that, why can’t others?
Second, consequently deport criminals. Why do they riot and loot? Because they know that even if arrested, there will be no serious consequences.
Third, eliminate lifelong welfare. Unconditional benefits are a huge pull factor for people to move to Europe in the first place. People on permanent welfare don’t contribute to society, they drain it. Look at Poland again, no lifelong welfare, resulting in safe streets, very low unemployment, and a fast-growing economy.
With low birth rates, Europe needs immigration, but the current uncontrolled mass immigration approach creates more problems than it solves, and requires urgent adjustment. What else must happen for politicians to stop denying reality?
Alchemisten dürfen sich freuen.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

Italian children are marching in Rozzano (Milan), protected by parents, because they do not want to be harassed and beaten by North Africans. The parents say: "If the state won't protect our children, we will." Yesterday, several North Africans were caught and beaten. Enough is enough.
Fuck, die Krawalle aus Frankreich weiten sich aus… Mailand jetzt auch. 😢
