JJ McCarthy is starting for Giants on Sunday at Houston according to ESPN. Right move by John Harbaugh as I explained below.
The @Giants offense was designed to take advantage of Jaxson Dart's mobility to move the pocket, his running ability and strong arm along with Cam Skattebo providing the tough yards as RB1. The only way for John Harbaugh to get back to the offense the coaches spent the entire offseason devising and installing is by switching to J.J. McCarthy, who has a similar skill set as Dart, and letting Skattebo out of the doghouse. Ideally, the switch to McCarthy would come after Sunday's game in Houston which precedes the bye week and then a game in Philly against the free-falling Eagles. But with Houston's Will Anderson Jr. leading the NFL with 7.5 sacks, and Danielle Hunter with 3 and 117.5 in his 12-year career, I think expecting Jameis Winston to avoid the Texans pass rush is just not realistic. The NFC East title is unexpectedly available to the first-place Giants with their 3-2-1 record in what was supposed to be a transition year for Harbaugh. The fact he has a chance to win the division without his starting QB, makes his Winston/McCarthy decision (likely coming today) much more important than if the Eagles or Cowboys were 5-1. Should be at interesting day at Giants camp today.

Ok here’s why the Knicks signed and waived Dink Pate I knew there was a method to their madness
The Knicks have today signed and then waived former G League Ignite guard Dink Pate to obtain his G League rights for the @wcknicks. Pate, still just 20, has played three seasons in the @nbagleague and recently withdrew from Providence when he could not gain NCAA eligibility.

From "Once A Giant," available on Amazon, etc, and coming soon as a documentary.
Gary Myers reveals that Bill Parcells has secretly paid over $4,000,000 to 20 of his former players who were struggling financially because he believed they sacrificed to make him financially secure and there is no better way to spend the money “Over the years, Parcells had loaned out a total of four million dollars to 20 of his former players who have come to him, I won't say destitute, but certainly having financial hardship.” “And Bill sat down and wrote checks for about four million dollars, which to me is completely unprecedented in sports. I've never heard of anything like that. And I said, 'Bill, why would you do something like that? Why do you feel obligated?' And he explained to me that he set aside all the money he needs for, hopefully, another 30 years of his life.” “He just turned 82. And he's given money to his three daughters and to his grandchildren, and then he has a certain amount of money left. And he says, 'What better way is there to do it than if some of my players who gave so much to me and helped make me a Hall of Fame coach and make me financially secure?” “It was because of their hard work and me driving them to be the best they can be. They gave so much to me. Now that I'm in a position to help, and unfortunately they're in a position where they need help, why shouldn't I be the one to help?'” “And, you know, people who remember Parcells, there's this hard-driving coach who had a love-hate relationship with his players. And now to see the transformation where he has become the patriarch of that team.”
