David Sills, activated off injured reserve by the Bucs today, can help them at receiver with Jalen McMillan on IR and Emeka Egbuka in concussion protocol. He had 18 catches for 191 yards and 2 TDs with Falcons last year, and at 6-3 adds some size to the WR options as well.
Bucs have placed LB Christian Rozeboom on injured reserve with a finger injury sustained in Sunday's loss. They've also activated WR David Sills from injured reserve, and he can make his Bucs debut Sunday at Carolina.
NFL teams opening 1-5 and making the playoffs:
2020 Washington Football Team, finished 7-9
2018 Colts, finished 10-6 (won a playoff game)
2015 Chiefs, finished 10-6 (won a playoff game)
1970 Bengals, finished 8-6
Replying to @gregauman
I like Baker. But saying that is so blatantly obvious, it almost sounded stupid. Just like when Bowles says it.
Greg, has any team ever made the playoffs after starting 1-5?
We've mentioned Garrett Greene's father Charlie working as the Brewers' bullpen coach, but that isn't the only Bucs World Series tie -- guard Ben Bredeson is from just outside Milwaukee and his first job was as a vendor at Miller Park, selling peanuts & hot dogs in high school.

With Baker Mayfield talking today and saying his thumb is strong enough to play, all signs point to him returning as starter Sunday at Carolina, barring a setback.
“We’ve gotten to a place where it’s strong enough to play,” Baker Mayfield says of his injured thumb and Sunday’s game at Carolina.
Mayfield said his initial goal was to return for the Steelers game but he just wasn’t ready. This was the “last” week he wanted to be ready to return.
Video: Baker Mayfield talks about the urgency at 1-5 and how important it is to start turning things around Sunday at Carolina.
Mayfield says he feels “very confident” in being able to grip the ball with his injured thumb. Glove on throwing hand has padding in it that should help limit the chance of it bending back in a game.
Video: Baker Mayfield talks about his progress in recovering from his thumb injury and how he feels after two practices.
Sure looks like Emeka Egbuka's status in concussion protocol stems from a fourth-quarter play where Steelers LB Patrick Queen put his shoulder directly into Egbuka's helmet after an incomplete pass. No flag on the play, but could see this net a fine. (CBS screengrab)
If Emeka Egbuka (concussion/foot) can't go Sunday for the Bucs vs. Carolina, it's a significant loss for their offense. He's gotten 43 percent of their WR targets through six games and 31 percent of their WR receiving yards. Chris Godwin, Ted Hurst, Tez Johnson all take on more.
Always appreciate the detail in Barnwell's suggested trades. He has the Bucs dealing Anthony Nelson to the Bears in a pick swap ...
