Loads of great posters on show here at Climate Change and Marine Ecosystems summer school. Here’s me with mine, but in particular I enjoyed learning about the local ecology and oceanography of the South China Sea.
A great first day at Climate Change & Marine Ecosystems summer school, rounded off with a lovely evening meal. Time for day 2! @croucherFDN @StrathMathStat @SUPERDTP1
Good morning from Hong Kong! Super excited to be here and looking forward to next week’s @croucherFDN Climate Change and Marine Ecosystems summer course. As ever, thanks to @SUPERDTP1 for making these opportunities possible.

In the early 1800s, Victorian artists and microscopists would rearrange diatoms (microscopic single-cell algae encased in beautiful glass shells) into intricate patterns on glass slides.

We discovered a mathematical identity equation to partition the slope of linear regression into within-group and across-group regression slopes, which can be useful in many cases.

Dr Dougie Speirs and Prof Mike Heath were at Ross Priory last week teaching on “Raising your Game: Developing Mathematical Modelling Skills” for PhD students in @SUPERDTP1.
The weather was so good the students were able to work in the Ross Priory summer house 😎☀
A lovely evening bike ride to Ross Priory where I join @SUPERDTP1 for the ecosystem modelling course. Excited to be here for the week and to get back to coding after a couple of weeks of writing!
