These states still currently have the laws in effect: Arkansas (Also technically bans non-believers from testifying as witnesses in court), Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas. So technically, even today, anyone of these states could enforce that if you are not a Christian, then you cannot hold statewide office.
